Another wholesome cooking series that has been airing on Food Network since 2018, Girl Meets Farm, is a show hosted by Molly Yeh, who also is a cookbook author. Cook Molly Yeh at times puts to use her mixed Jewish and Chinese ancestry in her cooking, though she mostly indulges in preparing Midwestern farm dishes and meals.
The show launched its first season sometime in June 2018 and has since then released a total of twelve successful seasons.
What makes the thirty-four years old’s cooking show great to watch is how she adds storytime while she is cooking food, talking about her life in the countryside and how she adjusted to it.
With a Jewish mother and a Chinese father, Molly has found a perfect balance between the two cultures, happily incorporating it into her cooking.
Fans love her show not only because she is a relaxing presence on screen but also because Molly has a way of explaining the ingredients and steps of a dish in a manner that is easy to follow and a treat for the eyes.
From what we know, Molly officially kick-started her career in 2016 when she published her first cookbook called ‘Molly on the Range: Recipes and Stories from an Unlikely Life on a Farm.’
This book managed to fetch her the IACP Cookbook Award just the next year, in 2017, after which she revealed that she would be bringing to Food Network’s fans her own cooking show, Girl Meets Farm, which continues to air even now.
You may have also spotted the cook on another cooking competition series called Spring Baking Championship, where she had been the host of the eighth season in 2022.
Molly, since the launch of her successful show, has opened up her own restaurant called ‘Bernie’s’ located in East Grand Forks, Minnesota.
While her professional life is going perfectly, Molly Yeh’s personal life is equally great. The cook is married to Nick Hagen, a music major and a fifth-generation farmer in his family. Both have experience with farm life, so they live comfortably in their home in Minnesota, a Midwestern state in the United States.
With her husband having a background in music, Molly Yeh was also a co-host of a podcast called, From The Top, which focused on bringing the spotlight on young classical musicians.
While Molly talks a lot about her life and her childhood growing up in Illinois and then moving to different states throughout the years, many fans who have followed her show continue to wonder where exactly she films her cooking show.
If you are one such fan, curious to find out more about her set locations, then do continue reading till the end.
Girl Meets Farm’s Filming Locations
Fans have questioned for long enough about Molly Yeh’s perfectly clean and squeaky kitchen backdrop, and you might be surprised to know that the cook actually films all of her episodes in a place located on the border of North Dakota and Minnesota.
The place is more specifically located in the East Grand Forks.
And what is even more surprising is that this ‘place’ in East Grand Forks is not a set or backdrop specifically created for the show, but it is, in reality, Molly Yeh’s actual place, her home.
The house that she currently occupies with her family, including her husband, her two kids, and her in-laws, also has the Hagen farm belonging to her husband, Nick Hagen, whose family owns the farm.
Though the house looks like a typical farm place apt for the Midwestern family, and most of what fans see throughout the episode, be it Molly’s in-laws riding their truck around their farms or just the vibe of the house in general, it is all real.
Though Molly has revealed that the kitchen area had to be changed slightly to accommodate the proper lighting fixture, the camera crew, and the mics but apart from that all that you see on screen is her actual beautiful home with a kitchen that might make many cooks a tiny a bit jealous.
