Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition has made a strong debut on Nintendo Switch 2 in Japan, selling 27,604 physical copies between August 24 and 30, 2026. The game entered the latest Famitsu sales chart at No. 2, placing it behind Rhythm Heaven Groove, which sold 34,688 copies during the same week.
According to sales data reported by Famitsu, Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition was the week’s highest-selling new Switch 2 release. Its 27,604-copy debut also put it comfortably ahead of several other new releases.

Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 2 had three separate entries across PS5, Switch 2 and Switch, selling 12,691, 8,624 and 5,590 copies respectively. Meanwhile, Splatoon Raiders added 11,891 copies to its Japanese total, bringing the game to 638,262 physical sales.
Nintendo’s hardware also recorded growth during the same tracking period. Switch 2 sold 22,265 units, up from 20,734 the previous week, according to Famitsu’s figures reported by Nintendo Everything.
With 27,604 copies sold in its opening week, Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition has established a strong early position on Switch 2, although Rhythm Heaven Groove remained Japan’s best-selling physical game for the week.
