After years of player requests, Genshin Impact is finally implementing a feature that closely resembles a dialogue skip option. While it isn’t a dedicated Skip Button, the upcoming Luna VIII update significantly speeds up dialogue progression, allowing players to move through conversations much faster than before.

The quality-of-life improvement arrives alongside the major July 1 update, which also introduces the Moon as a new explorable region and adds Sandrone as a playable character. Although HoYoverse has stopped short of adding a full dialogue skip feature, the new system addresses one of the community’s longest-standing requests.

Faster dialogue gives players more control

Before the Luna VIII update, players often had to wait for scene transitions, character animations, or camera movements to finish before advancing to the next line of dialogue. This made lengthy conversations—particularly during side quests—feel slower than many players preferred.

With the new system, dialogue can now be advanced much more quickly, allowing fast readers to click through conversations at their own pace. While the feature functions similarly to a skip button in practice, it still requires players to manually progress through each line instead of skipping entire scenes.

The change is designed to improve pacing without affecting those who enjoy reading every conversation. Players who prefer the original experience can continue progressing through dialogue normally without enabling any additional settings.

Story-focused players won’t miss important dialogue

HoYoverse has also ensured that players who accidentally advance through dialogue too quickly can revisit missed conversations. The in-game dialogue log remains available, allowing users to reread previous lines and replay voiced dialogue whenever voice acting is included.

This approach gives players greater flexibility while preserving the story-driven experience that has become one of Genshin Impact’s defining features. Unlike Honkai: Star Rail and Zenless Zone Zero, which already include dialogue skipping options, Genshin Impact continues to prioritize narrative presentation while offering a faster reading experience.

The new dialogue pacing feature will become available with the Genshin Impact Luna VIII update on July 1, 2026. For players who have spent years asking for quicker conversations, this may be the closest the game has come to offering a true Skip Button.
