ELDEN RING Tarnished Edition Brings Shadow of the Erdtree and New Content to Nintendo Switch 2

ELDEN RING has officially arrived on Nintendo Switch 2 with the launch of ELDEN RING Tarnished Edition, giving Nintendo players their first opportunity to explore the Lands Between and the Realm of Shadow on a Nintendo platform. The new edition includes the base game and the critically acclaimed Shadow of the Erdtree expansion, allowing players to experience the complete adventure in both docked and handheld modes.

The launch also introduces new content for ELDEN RING players across other platforms. According to Bandai Namco Entertainment’s official announcement, the additional content is available separately through the Tarnished Pack on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam.

New Classes and Torrent Customization Arrive With Tarnished Edition

One of the biggest additions in ELDEN RING Tarnished Edition is the introduction of two new starting classes: the Heavy Knight and the Idus Knight. The update also includes four new armor sets, including equipment associated with the two new character classes.

Players can additionally customize Torrent for the first time with three new appearance options. These features are not exclusive to the Nintendo Switch 2 release, as players on other platforms can access them through the separately available Tarnished Pack.

The new edition includes Shadow of the Erdtree, which takes players to the Realm of Shadow on a new journey connected to Miquella. The expansion expands the game’s world with new environments, enemies, challenges, equipment, and story elements.

The Nintendo Switch 2 release marks another major milestone for ELDEN RING, which has become one of FromSoftware’s most successful games. Developed under the direction of Hidetaka Miyazaki, the game brought together FromSoftware’s signature dark fantasy design with world-building contributions from A Song of Ice and Fire author George R.R. Martin.

Bandai Namco confirmed that the original game has sold more than 30 million units worldwide. It also received more than 400 Game of the Year nominations and established itself as one of the biggest action RPG releases of its generation.

With ELDEN RING Tarnished Edition, Nintendo Switch 2 players can now take on the journey to become Elden Lord while exploring the game’s massive open world at home or on the go. The launch also gives existing players a reason to return, with the new classes, armor, and Torrent customization expanding the experience across platforms.
