What a way to conclude Chicago Fire Season 10 Episode 22! If there’s a cool thing about this season finale is that it was full of emotional moments and adrenaline. We saw the return of Matt Casey for a great wedding. Kidd and Severide are tying the knot in a wedding that had a few ups and downs. That couple surely knows about stress. If it’s not too hot —pun intended— it is the last-minute nervousness before walking down the aisle.
The action drama that chronicles the lives of first responders of the Chicago Fire Department arrives at another season conclusion. The Dick Wolf drama starring Taylor Kinney and Christian Stolte will return for an eleventh season this fall. Now, without further ado, let’s take a look at the finale. Reader beware, there are spoilers ahead.
Chicago Fire Season 10 Episode 22 Finale Recap
Kidd and Severide were planning their last-minute wedding at the start of tonight’s episode. They both realized they loved each other too much to let a minor disagreement get into their marriage, so they decided to bring up their wedding date. Everything began to fall into place once they made that decision. They had no trouble finding a venue. They found a nice hotel with another wedding scheduled for that Saturday, but an unexpected event canceled that wedding at the last minute. So, neither Severide nor Kidd needed to pay a deposit. The other couple had already paid for it. The other couple also paid for the minister.
As a result, the minister was also free. Severide and Kidd only needed to get everything else in order. They needed alcohol, and Hermann had already offered them a fantastic deal from Molly’s. The other firefighters were also assisting with the further details. Everyone was rallying behind the couple. Brett, too. Brett returned from her trip early to attend the wedding, and she stated that Casey would as well. He only had to find someone to cover his shift first. Everything was falling into place until something unexpected happened. Severide was scheduled to meet someone in court.

Severide Kills A Dude
Only Severide noticed that one of the men who had beaten him up was present. He pursued the individual. The other guy brandished a knife. They got into a fight, and Severide kicked him out, but the guy fell through a window, landing on the street. He passed away. Severide killed him. Severide may not have intended to kill him, but he did, and the consequences could have been disastrous for him. Fortunately, it did not. The other guy had been following him and was discovered with a knife. There was one more advantage. Someone higher up in the drug trade gave the guy his talking orders.
That means the cops can now go after him for approving Severide’s beating. They had the dead man’s phone, which provided them with a wealth of evidence. Severide was unaffected. He was told he could put this behind him, but thinking and doing were two different things. Severide struggled to refrain from blaming himself. He needed something to take his mind off it, and Casey came in handy. Casey went back to Chicago. He was able to leave, and he attended the wedding. It was great to see Casey again. Everyone in the room was happier with him there, and he heard the good news.
Here Comes The Bride
Kidd requested that Chief Boden accompany her down the aisle. He agreed because he was so honored. The crew threw Kidd a bachelorette party inside the firehouse, so the attendees greatly appreciated Brett’s presence. Brett was even informed about the Emma saga. Emma was utterly insane. She did everything she could to take Violet’s job, and she believes that once she is there permanently, the firefighters will treat her like family. Violet’s boyfriend, Chief Hawkins, had told her that there might not be anything they could do to stop Emma from taking them both down if she tried. Hawkins could not speak on Violet’s behalf because everyone assumed he was doing so because of their relationship.
Severide and Kidd exchanged vows. They had all of their loved ones’ blessings after Severide’s mother gave them hers, so the wedding was beautiful and would have been a fitting end, but it wasn’t the end. Someone else appeared when Severide and Kidd went to their cabin in the woods to celebrate their honeymoon.
