Australian Survivor Season 9 Episode 24 was the final episode of Season 9. Season 9 of Blood v Water was not a fantastic or even a decent season, and there was little about the finale that was truly surprising. But now that the dust has settled and a winner has been chosen… Even yet, I wouldn’t call it the franchise’s weakest viewing experience. I’m glad it’s finally over, because I could have done even without slow burn of an airing schedule that stretched out this post-merge. However, while the season as a whole was a huge letdown following an exciting pre-merge, it did have a few redeeming features. It’s far from ideal, but after suffering through All-Stars two years ago, we’ll be fine.
Let’s go back to Day 46 for a moment. Our last four have been determined. Shay the Warrior, Josh the Aviator, and Chrissy the Social Analyst. There are four different ways to play the game, four different ways to get to the finish line, and four candidates for the title. We also have a final three rather than a final two for the first time in Survivor AU. Let’s go over the events of the finale in detail.
Australian Survivor Season 9 Episode 24 Recap And Review
Shay thinks about how hard she’s had to battle to stay alive, and she feels she’s the most dangerous physical threat left. Josh thinks he has the strong strategic game and is proud of the social relationships he’s made; he swears to defeat Shay tonight in order to eliminate his greatest threat and win the game. Chrissy is more confident than she was on Day 1 and aims to win over the jury using her social game, thinking she has no dirt on her hands that would make people unhappy. Mark swears to win on Sam’s behalf so that her sacrifice would not be in waste, and he hopes the jury will be impressed by his idol’s performance. Before competing in their final immunity task, the four contestants receive calls from their families back home to motivate them.
The Immunity Challenge
Players cling to pegs hung from a platform above a waterfall. They must travel down to lower pegs at intervals, dangling them further over the edge. Immunity is awarded to the last player standing. Shay is the winner of the final round of immunity. Shay knows she wants Chrissy to accompany her to the finish, so she talks with her about which of the guys to vote for. Mark suggests to Josh that they both vote for Chrissy to force a tie at the very least, but they tell Chrissy that they will be voting for each other. Mark votes for Josh anyhow, knowing that he is a strong candidate for the nomination and that this is his last chance to defeat him. Chrissy is torn between which of the boys she will have to betray.
Shay admits at Tribal that she wasn’t in anyone’s final three plans and that she needed to win tonight to stay alive. Josh claims that he and Mark are aware that they will be terminated tonight. Chrissy is upset that her close friendship with Mark and Josh is being destroyed. Josh is hoping that his bond with Chrissy is strong enough for him to rely on her tonight. Josh, on the other hand, is voted out 3-1, leaving him the jury’s eleventh member.

The Final Voting To Announce The Winner
Before their final Tribal Council, Mark, Chrissy, and Shay share a breakfast treat. Mark claims that he has been strategic from the beginning, taking risks and pursuing major dangers while using Josh as a cover. Shay claims she has been targeted since the merger began and has defied all odds to make it to the finish. Chrissy highlights her social play, which includes aligning with the tougher players to stay safe and even splitting up with her loved one to build new strong relationships.
The jury wonders if Chrissy’s loyalty drove her to put her allies’ interests ahead of her own. Shay has been punished for never having complete control over the game. Several jurors are turned off by Mark’s ruthlessness, but they admire how he handled his threat level. Mark receives a 10-0-0 vote from the jury, crowning him the Sole Survivor.
Final Thoughts Australian Survivor Season 9
Season 9 of Australian Survivor has come to a conclusion. While the production’s decision to tone down the twists was a welcome change, most of what this year had to offer were pretty standard. Casting was a mixed bag, with numerous major names appearing, as well as a few others cast just to fill a void. The boot order was a wreck, as losing the game’s greatest names so early in the season placed the team in a sluggish mindset in the final weeks.
Nina, Sandra, Sophie, Khanh, Sam, Andy, Jordie, and Chrissy were among the players who kept things exciting. If the show gets another season, it will need to undergo several adjustments. Directly from the design board, either production addresses their awful editing difficulties and eliminates the enormous OP twists. Alternatively, the network may recruit new producers to help the show get back on track.
