What Is Andor About?
Cassian Andor is an intelligence officer serving the Rebel Alliance in the fight against the Galactic Empire. We know this from his trajectory and work in Rogue One, where he and others steal the plans to the Death Star. Furthermore, the series will focus on Andor’s life five years before the events of Rogue One.
Andor Teaser Trailer Breakdown
The trailer begins with a man walking up a staircase atop a tower where he starts banging on a huge metal drum, signaling the events of an incoming looming menace. After that, cue in a piece of thrilling music. And we’re taking to the jungle, where a group of children, men, and women at the bank of a river take notice of something we can’t see as they look up at the sky.
The trailer smash cuts to a salvage yard where an orange droid calmly moves among pieces of scrap and then to an impeccable white laboratory where some workers suddenly stop their activities from looking at something in awe as the tension from the background music intensifies. Then, groups of rebels in the mountains and in deserts scramble to hide weapons and ring alarm bells. With each strike of the bell, we see the stormtroopers walking all over different parts of the galaxy. Empire officers bang on doors, conduct raids, and ask questions. The menace of the Galactic Empire’s iron fist looms in.
Cassian Hides
Then we see Cassian Andor hiding from the stormtroopers as the superior echelons of the Galactic Empire converse in a meeting room. There’s a chase, and all over the corners of the galaxy, the power of the Empire and the resistance of the Rebel Alliance starts to gather against the oppressive forces of tyranny. Then, the music goes into a climax showing the title screen of the show.
