The Nationally Famous Idol, Who Turned Out To Be My Childhood Friend, is now My Neighbour!? Chapter 1 slowly introduces us to the cast of characters. First is Kazuki and Sena, that are seen taking a stroll through the street among big buildings under broad sunlight.
They are talking about the music-related assignment that they had to do a few days prior. Sena invites herself to Kazuki’s apartment under the pretense of cooking for him. Kazuki caught on and asked for the real reason why she wanted to come over.
When Kazuki reaches his apartment, he is greeted by a new neighbor who tried to his herself from him. Repeating the question if Sena was her girlfriend before he could answer, the neighbor shuts her door.
Kazuki wants to deny it but can’t and is called by Sena inside to work on their studies. Sena is aloof most of the time, but she throws in serious questions in between, trying to make out what Kazuki likes about a woman. And the one he wants now happens to be a girl who is a national treasure.

She is a rising idol with a future ahead of her, and he is also her fan wishing her success. He was spooked when he realized Moutou was staying the night at his apartment. If she was discovered by anyone leaving the apartment, it would create drama nationwide, causing problems for her and her image as an Idol.
What’s more, once Sena learns of this, she will go into flight or fight mode to get the attention of Kazuki, which will trigger the yandere side of Moutou. A thing Kazuki had never had to deal with before as he thought of her as his sister.
