TV Asahi’s rom-com Ossan’s Love Returns stars Tanaka Kei, Yoshida Kotaro, and Hayashi Kento as the protagonists. Haruta Soichi and Maki Ryota, having recently returned from their adventure in Singapore, eagerly embraced the start of their married life together.
However, the transition to domestic harmony proved more challenging than anticipated as the demands of work and household chores began to take their toll. Determined to alleviate the mounting pressure, they opted to enlist the help of housekeeping services, seeking respite from their hectic schedules and a chance to nurture their fledgling relationship.
Their hopes for a smoother journey, however, were abruptly dashed when an unexpected visitor arrived at their doorstep: none other than the retired Kurosawa Musashi. The unexpected visit from their old friend makes them feel uncomfortable and unsure about their relationship. It brings back past feelings and makes them wonder if their relationship is strong enough.
As they deal with this surprising turn of events, Haruta and Maki are reminded of old problems that still affect them. They wonder if they’ll face the same issues again or if they can overcome them and become closer.
Kurosawa finds out that he has only one month left to live. Haruta and Maki enjoy their home-cooked meal and believe they should stop hiring services and consider saving money for the future. Haruta finds out that his office is ready to merge with another department and that he would soon become the assistant section chief.
Haruta and Maki later visit Kurosawa and reveal that they’ll be ending their contract this month. Kurosawa’s bucket list ends up being exposed in front of them. The group later speculated that Kurosawa could be suffering from a terminal illness and decide to throw him an encouragement party to cheer him up.
