The snake drew him into his grasp to unwittingly exploit the white boy against Tariq. But Riq needed official papers to get custody of Yasmine, so he created a front firm and appointed Brayden its president. To allay Zeke’s concerns, Tariq attempted to sow the idea that the NYPD concealed Jabari’s murder because Det. Ramirez’s pistol was the real murderer.
While desiring Monet for himself and abandoning her imprisoned husband, Dante and Mecca eventually paid Zeke’s legal fund, which was $1.1 million, on Monet’s behalf. We discovered Zeke wasn’t Monet’s nephew but rather her son. He was the son of Mecca.
After Ramirez’s gun was discovered in Tariq’s dorm room, Zeke was eliminated as a suspect. When Tariq learned that Lauren was wearing a wire that would have implicated Brayden, Cane, or himself, his case took an unexpected turn. To defend Lauren, Riq persuaded Carrie to testify in court. Davis degraded her in front of the jury. After speaking with Monet later that evening, Carrie hanged herself.
In a nightmare, Tariq saw everyone holding him accountable for the killing. After realizing that Dante was Mecca, Monet recognized him for what he was and devised a strategy to assassinate him. Brayden contributed to the dismissal of Tariq’s case. Yasmine was reunited with Tasha after Tariq secured her release from foster care.
Once he has the resources and influence, Riq promises to rejoin his family. Monet ultimately slew Mecca. Since Tariq attended the scene, he is now a person of interest in another homicide. Lorenzo shot Zeke to death, intending to stop Mecca from taking off on a private jet! The news of her son’s passing reached Monet by phone.
