He gets quite happy when a wealthy man named Charles Bingley moves into their neighbor’s estate.

Plot
After the ball, Jane becomes sick, and Bingley takes her to their home and provides medical assistance. Elizabeth visits her sister. While being at their estate, she faces haughty remarks from Caroline. All this while, Mr. Darcy stands by. Later, a proposal comes for Jane from Mr. Collins, one of their closest cousin who is to inherit the Bennet estate after them, given the fact that the family has no male heir. Mrs. Bennet declines the offer for Jane and suggests that she is to be engaged soon. She asks Mr. Collins to propose to Elizabeth instead, to which he agrees. Collins has also come along with Lieutenant Wickham who has a relation to the Darcy family.
Wickham and Elizabeth become close as he shares the story of how Mr. Darcy robbed him of his inheritance. Later at another ball, we see Elizabeth dancing with Darcy. This moment surely is quite awkward given the cold war that exists between them. The next day, Collins proposes to Elizabeth, who rejects him. Later, Elizabeth is shocked to see her friend, who fears she will be alone for the rest of her life if she does not marry now, announces her engagement to Mr. Collins.
