School Spirits premiered on March 9, 2023, with its first episode. The series is an adaptation of the graphic novel by Nate Trinrud and Megan Trinrud. It is a high school supernatural drama. It features actors Peyton List, Kristian Flores, Milo Manheim, Spencer Macpherson, and Kiara Pichardo.
The story revolves around Maddie, who is stuck in high school and is dead. She is trying to figure out how she died. She meets many ghosts in the afterlife who are trapped at school for many years, just like her. She starts solving her death mystery to escape.
School Spirits Episode 7: The Story
Maddie Near is a high schooler studying at Split River High. Suddenly one day, there is a missing notice about Maddie addressed by the Principal. Everyone is attempting to recall the identity and appearance of Maddie. A cheerleader girl tells her friend about police finding blood in the closet of the Janitor, but someone argues that it was in the boiler room. It seems like Maddie’s phone is somewhere in the school.
Maddie’s spirit roams inside the school, where she sees Charley. As they are ghosts, nobody can hear them. Charley tries to be friendly with Maddie and shows empathy. He tells her that the body will be found soon by them. It has been three days since Maddie died, and she is trying to understand the situation.
Maddie is frustrated about spending her afterlife in high school. She tries to talk to Nicole, but she can’t hear her. Later, Maddie meets Mr. Martin, who invites her to participate in the Afterlife Support Group. The other ghosts ask her how she died, but she has no memory. Maddie recalls spending time with Xavier, her boyfriend.
Maddie goes after Xavier, who is not doing well. Seeing him in such a condition, she wants to return, but it is impossible. Charley advises her to be with the club. In the classroom, Simon is angry as no one is interested in making a search group for missing Maddie. Simon and Xavier had fought and accidentally ripped Xavier’s bag, and missing Maddie’s phone was in it.
School Spirits Episode 7: Recap
Previously in the School Spirits series, Simon is upset with Maddie because she agreed to go to the homecoming dance with Wally. Claire will be going to the dance with Xavier disappoints her friends. Later, Xavier tells Nicole and Simon that Claire will go with him. They’ll try to make Claire confess about the event involving Maddie’s phone and other things.
Xavier receives a text from Claire that appears to be a trap, and they discuss it with Simon. Nicole accompanied Xavier in shopping for a suit for homecoming. Maddie’s mother is still hopeful that she will return. She assumed Maddie would attend the dance with Simon because they were best friends.
Wally arrives to take Maddie home in a black suit and Maddie in her prom dress. They both looked stunning. He had come on a golf cart to pick her up and even bought a paper corsage, just like in the 1980s. Xavier, on the other hand, arrives to pick up Claire. She gave him a money check to help his father’s re-election campaign.
Maddie gets upset seeing Xavier having a good time with Claire. Xavier tells Claire that Maddie’s backpack was in a building owned by her father. But Claire doesn’t fall into the trap. Claire clarifies that she knew it from her father and the police.
When Xavier inquires about Maddie’s phone, Claire reveals a video that she intended to remove from Maddie’s phone. She goes on to describe the entire incident to him. Xavier believes her, and they are together at the whole party. Later, police find a weapon with blood on it and investigate it related to Maddie. It is shocking for her mother.
