Harvestella was recently unveiled at the Nintendo Partner Direct, and many will undoubtedly be curious about the experience after seeing the teaser highlighting the title’s gameplay. It will be a fantasy and life simulation RPG that will be simply fantastic to watch in this format, especially with the third-person viewpoint. The game is even set to be released later this year, so RPG lovers will undoubtedly be anticipating this title. The trailer revealed a lot of gameplay, and this guide article will go through the Harvestella release date as well as some of the gameplay we’ve seen so far.
Throughout Harvestella’s story, you’ll meet characters such as Aria, Asyl, and Shrika. In addition to making friends in the game’s many towns, you can also expect to find enemies to battle in its many dungeons. Square Enix even promises sea travel once you’ve managed to acquire your own submarine. More info about Harvestella will be released in the lead-up to the game’s November release date on Switch and PC. Now, without further ado, let’s take a look at what this title has to offer.
What Is Harvestella About?
Harvestella is Square Enix’s latest title, and is introduced as “a Life Simulation RPG where you can enjoy daily life, socializing, and adventuring.” You can farm, fish, and raise livestock, which is fairly Harvest Moon-y of this game. However, not all is as peaceful as it seems when the season of Quietus comes when crops wither and the deadly dust-prevent people from being outside.
Harvestella’s Story
The Seaslight began acting strangely one day. Quietus appears in the gap between seasons, soon establishing itself as the season of death. So, one day, The Seaslight glows strangely, producing light dust that harms everything it touches – crops perish, and people are trapped inside. During one Quietus, your character, a traveler, collapses in a remote settlement. You meet Aria, a girl who claims to be from the future and is investigating the mysteries of this new, unwanted season. As a result, you and she have taken the first step on a journey that will unveil the true nature of the world. In your search across the world you will look for four giant crystals which harness the power of the universe. But the search and its quests won’t be easy. Are you ready for that challenge? Four seasons await you, crops, monsters, quests, friends and rivals will be on your way. And it’s up to you and your skills to best take advantage of each opportunity.

Gameplay Details
If you played Stardew Valley, the gameplay for Harvestella will be a little similar, at least when it comes to farming your food. But beware, the entire game isn’t just an agricultural experience. You will have to rely on your wits to make your crops grow as seasons move on. And different seasons mean different crops. You will have shelter for your seeds, plants, and materials. Moreover, you will also have a few things to do with the food you harvest. For example, you can cook and craft items to help you in your adventures across the universe. Also, these will be upgradable.
As for the social part, you won’t be able to call Harvestella the next Tinder or your local bar, but you will likely have the chance to meet with other people playing the game and interact with them. You can increase a scale called “closeness” and its trackable via a menu that bears —once again— a certain similarity with Stardew Valley.
