Drag Race Philippines Season 2 Episode 8 will be released soon. The show is offering an open world for the LGBTQ+ community to live freely and showcase their talent to the global audience. 12 drag queens made it to the premiere of the show on August 2.
The prize for winning is not just a crown, 1000000 pesos, and a year-long cosmetic supply but also a world of acceptance and opportunities. Now, only 6 of the drag queens remain in competition. It will be interesting to see how this week’s episode added up to the spice of the show and what to expect from the next episode. Without wasting time, let’s jump to the details.
Drag Race Philippines Season 2 Episode 7 Recap
The episode begins with the remaining six queens reading the message left by Dee Dee after being eliminated. As only six of them are left, the tension is high as there is a risk of making it to the bottom two, and all of them are equally competitive and talented. On the screen, an announcement is made about the upcoming opportunity to be the golden queen.
Pao comes in, congratulating the remaining queens and presenting another challenge full of twists. They have to do their makeup in five minutes, share a common tiny mirror and will have a follow-up shoot. As all of them fight for the mirror, Bernie focuses on doing her makeup without the mirror sitting alone. BJ Pascual arrives for the photoshoot. In the end, Bernie wins the challenge and gets 20000 pesos.
The next challenge is giving a makeover to the golden gays. Out of them all, Madonna is a 93-year-old energetic person who catches attention. After they finish introducing themselves, it is time for queens to pick the person they will give a makeover to. Bernie gets to choose first, and she picks Amparing.
Later, she picks partners for all. The queens start with their partners to get the perfect look. The category for them is TwinningTwinning: The Shequel. All the queens get their best runway, performance, and makeup on while trying to compliment their partners. All were stunning, which made it hard for the judges to come to a decision.
They all go backstage, where the golden gays and the queens start sharing their thoughts. Before leaving, the golden gays leave heart-touching messages for the queens. They feel happy to be a part of their journey. After their exit, the queens are sitting together when Jade’s parents appear on the screen and share a supportive, beautiful message for her.
The emotional moment escalated when Hana Beshie’s parents had a message for her, too. Everyone ends up in tears because they refer to the queen by her drag name, which reflects the acceptance that she struggled for. After the moods get a little light, it’s time for results. For the first time, instead of the bottom two, the judges have chosen the top two queens, OV Cunt and Bernie.
The lip sync battle is a non-elimination challenge this time. They have to perform a little kiss and a little hug by Vernie Varga. Bernie wins the challenge and splits her prize money, 80000 pesos, with the golden gays. She also gets a Ru badge, and the six safe queens exit happily.
