If you love games like Call Of Duty: Warzone, Destiny II, Apex Legends, etc., then this is the game you should be looking forward to. XDefiant is a new first-person shooter game that Ubisoft is developing. Yes, the same developer who made the series Assassin’s Creed, Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege, and other amazing game titles have won many awards.
XDefiant is going to be more of an MMORPG game, as has been observed with all the beta testing that is going on. The game is said to have different characters/groups of players, Liberated, Phantoms, Echelon, Cleaners, and DedSec. Many suspects that the DedSec faction is based on the WatchDogs series.
How to Download XDefiant On PlayStation, PC & Xbox?
Currently, XDefiant has been launched in closed Beta, and not many are permitted to try the game yet. They have, however, started letting people sign up for their close beta testing of the game. It is a limited-time thing as it went live on the 13th of April, 2023, and will be valid till the 23rd of April, 2023.
People who are on PlayStation and are interested in playing can only play on their PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4. Sadly, there is no support for PlayStation 3. People on Xbox can play on Xbox One, Xbox Series S, and Xbox Series X. People can play on their PC, too but check the minimum required specifications before registering for the game.
- OS: Windows 7 SP1, Windows 8.1 or Windows 10, or Windows 11
- Processor: Intel Core i5-4690k 2.5GHz or AMD Ryzen 3 1200 3.1GHz
- RAM: 8GB (Should run dual channel mode)
- Graphics: Nvidia GeForce 1050Ti (4GB) or AMD Radeon RX 560 (4GB)
- Storage: Minimum 45GB Available
- DirectX version: DirectX 11
Remember that the processor should be 64-bit, or the game will not run even if you meet all the other criteria. Anyway, now that the hardware part of it is dealt with. They are coming on how to sign up for the Beta.
Step 1
You can go to Ubisoft’s website and log in to their Ubisoft Connect. This is very important for all console players, as you must link your console when logging in.
Step 2
Once you have logged in and linked your console, you can search on Google for XDefiant beta. Click on the first link to get an option to register for the Beta. You can also register on Ubisoft’s official website. Fill in all the details, and you have successfully registered.
Things to Remember While Downloading Xdefiant
Even though you have registered on their website, there is a fair chance that you might not get selected for the close Beta. In this Beta, you will get access to 14 different locations, and out of five factions, you will get to access four of them.
The fourteen different locations are Attica Heights, Arena, DUMBO, Echelon HQ, Emporium, Liberty, Mayday, Meltdown, Midway, Nudleplex, Puebito, Showtime, Time Square, and Zoo. The game has a few modes you can play in, and they are categorized into two.
Arcade mode under this comes Domination, Occupy, and Hot Shot. Arcade mode means that there is a massive map with many players playing at the same time. Domination is the same concept used in Call Of Duty, where a location is given, and the enemy has to occupy the said location.
Occupy is almost the same as Domination but focuses more on the capture zones. These zones need to be occupied, all in the enemy territory. And last but not least, there is Hot Shot which is again similar to Call Of Duty. You kill someone, and they drop a dog tag, and you pick it up to confirm their death.
Now, the category would be Linear Mode. Under this, there is Escort and Zone Control. Escort has a heavy influence from the game Overwatch and is very much visible in the gameplay. The attackers must get to the payload, while the opposing team must defend it.
Zone Control, on the other hand, is very similar to Domination and Occupy. But do not worry, it does have a few different things. Unlike the other modes, Zone Control has five different zones to occupy. Once occupied, your enemy may come and attack and take over.
The factions available are Libertad, Echelon, Phantoms, and Cleaners. DedSec is not yet available to play with, and it has been announced that it will be available in the later beta updates.
Even though the game is free and you can try it at no additional cost, do remember that since the game is still in its beta stage, there will be issues and errors. Especially, PC players should be careful as it might go as far as crashing their PC. Be aware of all the risks before going for beta games.
