The final season of Billions is here. And with it, Bobby Axelrod is back from exile and with deep desires to get Axe Capital back. But to do that, Bobby must navigate a lot of obstacles; he has to get the Justice Department off of his head, get the cash and find financial allies that are now siding with the man that took his company.
Meanwhile, Chuck, facing disgrace and a botched prosecution case, must scramble whatever allies he has within the District Attorney’s office to get his job back and try to prosecute either Bobby, his foes, or anyone else for that matter in his quest for total judicial domination. The stage is set for the final season, which will surely give us a lot of surprises.
Billions Season 7 Episode 1 Recap
Prince enters Wendy’s office several months into the future and demands to know why she doesn’t think he is qualified to be president of the United States. After that, the story resumes in the present. When Wendy first arrives at Mike Prince Capital, the office is vacant save for Prince, who requests Wendy’s assistance in becoming the man he needs to be in order to win the presidential election and rule the free world effectively.
Wendy becomes more and more aware of Prince’s authoritarian inclinations as he speaks, and she believes they will come to light as soon as he assumes government. She starts looking for a method to connect with Prince because she believes that nobody can truly confront him, with the possible exception of Bobby.
Chuck’s life, meantime, hasn’t exactly been kind to him lately. He was detained by the police after being arrested. Chuck’s desperation has only grown since then. Chuck is beginning to believe that his agreement with Dave, in which they each vowed to cooperate in taking down Prince, is inadequate.
Chuck has liked being the center of attention throughout his career as he pursued billionaires like Bobby and Prince. But now that he feels marginalized in Dave’s complex plans, it naturally damages his enormous ego.
Dave, meantime, requests access to individuals who have previously worked with Chuck in an effort to persuade Prince that she wants Chuck to be imprisoned. The plan is to talk to them and learn anything damaging about Prince. Prince tells her that while he will allow her access to his business, she and his staff will have to determine what to do next.
When Taylor and Phillip discovered Prince wanted to run for president in the previous season finale, they also came to the conclusion that he was preparing them to succeed him at Mike Prince Capital. In this episode, they both initially object to the duty but eventually give in. Taylor is required to return Dollar Bill to the business as part of their agreement.
