It was later in her memorial service when a woman revealed to Finn and Liz that she was the woman who Epiphany rescued on the side of the road after she was in a terrible car crash.
While Liz was touched by Epiphany’s selfless act but soon realized that the fumes at the accident increased her weak heart condition and eventually caused her death. When Epiphany passed away, she was about to become a doctor as it was earlier revealed that she had passed the exam and had been checking out medical schools on the West Coast.
Marshall Ashford admitted that he is hoping that Epiphany does not move away permanently. However, Liz was worried after Epiphany could not be reached to submit a letter of recommendation that would help her to keep her job.

Who Played Epiphany On General Hospital?
Sonya Eddy played the role of nurse Epiphany Johnson in the long-running ABC soap opera General Hospital. Sadly, the fan-favorite star has passed away at the age of 55. The cause of death was an uncontrollable infection after surgery.
The late actress made her “General Hospital” debut back in 2006 as she starred as a nurse and mother of Stan Johnson (played by actor Kiko Ellsworth). However, with time, Eddy became a regular cast member on the spinoff medical drama General Hospital: Night Shift.
General Hospital co-star Kirsten Storms has admitted that she is getting emotional talking about it while calling Sonya one of the most positive people that has ever worked in this building. Co-stars Benard and Storms have also starred with Sonya Eddy in the General Hospital spin-off titled General Hospital: Night Shift.
Sonya Eddy’s other acting credits include Señora Porter in The Middle” and later starred in other television shows like Fresh Off the Boat, Married… with Children, Glee, Seinfeld, Home Improvement, Mike & Molly, and 2 Broke Girls.
General Hospital Stars Pay Tribute To Sonya Eddy
Eddy’s co-stars have paid their heartfelt tribute to the late actress. Lynn Herring remembered Sonya as a beautiful soul and how her smile would light up everybody’s day, Lynn further added how Eddy never complained about being tired while calling her a spark of joy.
Co-star Rebecca Herbst stated that while Sonya Eddy was the head nurse of General Hospital, the actress was truly that figure in their personal lives. Finola Hughes also added, saying how the late star had such a mix of humor and strength as she would laugh at anything and would give the best hugs.
The executive producer of the show, Frank Valentini, also issued a statement saying how lights in the hub of the nurse’s station will now be a little dimmer while adding that her spirit and light will continue to live on in both the show and on the set.
