The Invisible Guest (2016)
The Invisible Guest initially appeared to be a typical mystery thriller. Adrian Doria (Mario Casas), a wealthy and powerful businessman, is suspected of killing his lover and has just a few hours to come up with a solid defense to avoid going to prison. Although the plot sounds straightforward, there are so many turns, speed bumps, and surprises that by the time it’s over, you won’t even realize what hit you.
This Spanish movie’s genius rests in its capacity to lay the groundwork for numerous scenarios. Since everything was happening at once and viewers could only rely on Adrian’s account of what happened, it can be difficult to predict where the next bombshell would come from.
As the movie explores Daniel Garrido’s fate in greater detail, the plot holes simply serve to raise additional questions.
Adrian’s narrative’s whodunit style and Virginia Goodman’s incisive questioning created the ideal environment for a thorough examination of the events leading up to the tragic accident. Who was really at fault—Laura (Barbara Lennie) or Tomas Garrido (Jose Coronado)? Was there a second person involved? The puzzles don’t stop, and with conflicting accounts of what happened, the witness preparation specialist’s and her client’s time is running out.
As is typical of the most intriguing stories, there may still be doubts about the truth of the events long after they have concluded.
Bravo to the casting directors for choosing performers who enlivened the story in each of the renditions. Particularly Dani’s family. They were excellent in all of their roles. That last reveal was The Usual Suspects level, which is big praise since I believe the Kevin Spacey-starring film was one of the greatest of its kind. Whether a hero or a villain, everyone pulled their weight.
Director Oriol Paulo truly did a fantastic job with this intriguing mystery for a film with restricted locales, a tiny cast, and a relatively short budget. The Invisible Guest will surely keep you alert right up until the very end.
Unfaithful (2002)
In Adrian Lyne’s Unfaithful, Richard Gere plays the skeptical husband of Diane Lane’s wayward wife. Connie (Lane) travels into Manhattan amid a fierce windstorm while running an errand from her suburban house.
She practically bumps into Paul Martel (Olivier Martinez), a gorgeous young Frenchman lugging a massive stack of books, on a trash-strewn Soho street. Paul extends an invitation to Connie to come over to his place because she has a serious scrape on her knee and can’t get a cab.
While providing Connie with ice and a bandage for her knee, Paul is subtly flirtatious. Connie calls her son Charlie (Erik Per Sullivan) and lets him know she is running late. Paul gives her The Rubaiyat of Omar Khayyam, a collection of Persian poetry, before she departs.
She casually mentions the encounter to her husband, Edward (Gere), but it is obvious that she is obsessed with Paul. Soon after, she returns to the city with a reason to call him.
They fall in love quickly and their passion grows bolder and bolder. Edward starts to have suspicions, so he hires a private eye (Dominic Chianese from The Sopranos) to follow Connie. Following the confirmation of his worst suspicions, Edward makes the regrettable decision to confront Paul. While the screenplay for Unfaithful is credited to William Broyles Jr. and Alvin Sargent (Ordinary People, Cast Away), Claude Chabrol’s celebrated 1969 film La Femme Infidele served as Lyne’s source of inspiration.
The plot of “Unfaithful” centres on Connie having an affair after becoming disenchanted with her wife’s routine and ordinary life in a New York suburb. A private investigator is hired by Edward, a wealthy businessman, and Connie’s husband, to follow his wife. The story of “Unfaithful” develops and centres on the startling and perplexing revelations of Connie’s secrets, creating an intense and remorseful thriller.
Richard Gere, Diane Lane, Olivier Martinez, Michelle Monaghan, and Margaret Colin all give strong performances in the film. So, if you enjoyed the elements of secrets and lies in “Faithfully Yours,” you will enjoy “Unfaithful” director Adrian Lyne’s whirlwind of deceit just as much.

Bound, from directors Lilly Wachowski and Lana Wachowski, is the ideal film for you to watch after “Faithfully Yours,” which takes a turn toward deceit and ruined marriages.
The Voyeurs (2021)
In writer-director Michael Mohan’s erotic thriller, Sydney Sweeney, Justice Smith, Natasha Liu Bordizzo, and Ben Hardy are the leading actors. After moving into their dream apartment, a young couple develops a voyeuristic interest in the attractive couple who live directly across the street from them.
Their initial interest turns into a more sinister obsession, which leads to an unanticipated intertwining of all four lives and a fatal outcome.
In Michael Mohan’s film “The Voyeurs,” a simple curiosity develops into a dangerous obsession. This suspenseful movie follows Pippa and Thomas as they begin to examine the apartment that is directly across from them. The forbidden fruit’s sweetness soon turns to destruction, though. Along with Sydney Sweeney, Justice Smith, Ben Hardy, Natasha Liu Bordizzo, and Katharine King, the film explores the consequences of a compulsive obsession. In other words, if you thought “Faithfully Yours” was grim because of its unlikely lies and secrets, you will think “The Voyeurs” is a fascinating look at the state of the human psyche.

Side Effects (2013)
Emily Taylor is portrayed by Rooney Mara; her husband Martin, played by Channing Tatum, is a young businessman who will soon be released from prison after serving some time for financial fraud. The movie opens.
Stressed out and making a failed attempt at suicide, the mentally fragile Emily is placed in the care of Dr. Jonathan Banks (Jude Law), a workaholic psychiatrist who persuades her to visit him once a week for therapy. Because of Emily’s story, Jonathan decides to consult Dr. Victoria Siebert (Catherine Zeta-Jones), her former therapist.
Because she was taking the medication Jonathan prescribed for her, Emily claims she does not remember the horrific act she committed one night.
This causes a very public legal dispute, which causes Jonathan to suffer a significant public blow to his reputation. The embarrassed doctor is compelled by this turn of events to investigate Emily’s past in more detail. Directed by Steven Soderbergh from a script by his regular collaborator Scott Z. Burns.
This film has everything you could want in a potent psychological thriller: dishonest doctors, a pharma conspiracy, personal grudges, and murder, of course. Jude Law, Rooney Mara, Catherine Zeta-Jones, and Channing Tatum play the lead roles in Steven Soderbergh’s film Side Effects.
The protagonist is Emily Taylor (Mara), a depressed woman who seeks therapy. Emily switches between her current and former therapists, and she ultimately commits a crime.
Now, if we reveal any more of the plot, it might ruin the movie for you. To solve the mystery of what occurs and why, we will just let you watch it.
However, we can agree that the entire cast of Side Effects puts on strong performances, with Jude Law and Rooney Mara standing out in particular. It is challenging and exciting, and it keeps you interested the entire time. You will not be disappointed at all!
Fatal Attraction (1987)
Due to the popularity of Adrian Lyne’s 1987 film, “Fatal Attraction”, the phrase “fatal attraction” has come to mean a romantic relationship that turns into a murderous obsession.
A one-night stand between Dan (Michael Douglas), a family man, and Alex (Glenn Close), who insists on the relationship going on because she claims to be carrying his child, turns into a nightmare. In an effort to win back Dan’s love, Alex repeatedly terrorizes him and even briefly kidnaps his daughter.
Guiltily attempting to protect his marriage and family from the repercussions of his own transgression, Douglas plays the role of a beleaguered family man. Close’s portrayal of the smitten psycho-siren remains her most well-known role; in it, she challenges Dan to accept responsibility for his sexual behavior while also delivering the movie’s subliminal feminist message.
The Stepfather (1987), Pacific Heights (1990), The Hand That Rocks the Cradle (1992), and Fear (1996) are just a few of the movies about middle-class families under siege by a lone psychotic intent on infiltrating and destroying the fabric of the family unit that was inspired by Clint Eastwood’s 1971 film Play Misty for Me.
“Fatal Attraction” focuses on the irrational rage brought on by a feeling of abandonment and depicts the horror that can result from a single poor choice. The protagonist of this cult classic is Dan Gallagher, a successful attorney who is also a husband and father. However, he finds himself guarding more than just his secret when he eventually has an affair with a crazy book editor.
The psychological thriller is led by Adrian Lyne and stars Michael Douglas, Glenn Close, Anne Archer, and Ellen Hamilton Latzen. Therefore, if you thought that “Faithfully Yours” was a seductive story spun from a web of lies, you will find that this tale of deceit is just as grittier.

Over the coming weeks, as her misgivings intensify, Catherine hires the gorgeous blonde escort Chloe (Amanda Seyfried) to investigate her husband’s loyalty. Chloe reports all the naughty details to Catherine after each encounter with David.
But as the experiment goes on, it becomes less and less clear why Chloe is participating, and the distrusting wife starts to worry that things are getting out of hand. This erotic thriller, which Atom Egoyan (The Sweet Hereafter, Ararat) directed, is an adaptation of Anne Fontaine’s French film Nathalie.
“Chloe” illustrates how one can be blind to a variety of things and is yet another story that goes out of control when a woman suspects her husband of being unfaithful. When Catherine Stewart believes her husband, David Stewart, is having an extramarital affair, the movie explores the manipulation she facilitates. Catherine sends Chloe, a sex worker, to meet her husband in order to test his confidence in her.
However, as events spiral out of control and interactions become tense, mayhem inevitably results. The next movie you should watch is Atom Egoyan’s “Chloe,” which stars Amanda Seyfried, Julianne Moore, Liam Neeson, Nina Dobrev, Max Thieriot, and Mishu Vellani and shares many similarities with “Faithfully Yours.”
The Girl on the Train (2016)
On her daily commuter train ride, Emily Blunt’s character, a recent divorcee, fantasizes about a couple, Luke Evans and Haley Bennett, whose home she passes. A mystery involving the couple, as well as her ex-husband (Justin Theroux) and his new family soon draws her into it. This psychological thriller, which was directed by Tate Taylor, was based on Paula Hawkins’ best-selling book of 2015.
Rachel discovers more than just betrayal and lies as she delicately treads the line between reality and deception. The plot of the film centres on commuter Rachel Watson, an innocent woman who sees Scott and Megan, a happy couple, every day. But when Meghan vanishes and is assumed dead, Rachel launches a probe of her own that brings about perplexing revelations.
Emily Blunt, Haley Bennett, Rebecca Ferguson, Justin Theroux, Luke Evans, Lisa Kudrow, and Laura Prepon all make appearances in the film. If “Faithfully Yours” gave you a thrill ride, “The Girl on the Train” will provide you with a number of eerie and puzzling mysteries as well.
The Bridges of Madison County (1995)
This stirring love story is based on the best-selling novella by Robert James Waller and chronicles the brief, illicit relationship between an Iowa housewife and a post-middle-age free-lance photographer. The narrative opens in 1965 when intrepid National Geographic photographer Robert Kincaid visits Madison County to photograph its beautiful covered bridge.
He arrives and stops by an old farmhouse to inquire about the way. There he meets Francesca Johnson, a housewife whose partner and two kids are out of town.
Thus begins their four-day relationship, which has a profound impact on both of them. Francesca chronicles the affair in a diary that her flabbergasted grown children read; never would they have expected their mother to be capable of the passion she experienced with Kincaid.
The Bridges of Madison County follows the story of two people who voluntarily give up their happiness and accept that the ideals of perfect personal contentment do not permanently reside in fulfilling one’s wishes, far from the unsettling events that might serve as a prelude to dangerous consequences.
The main characters decide against falling in love and accept their chance encounter, making their love affair a heartfelt event rather than the prelude to mayhem.
Clint Eastwood, Meryl Streep, Christopher Kroon, Annie Corley, and Victor Slezak are all part of the cast. The Bridges of Madison County, another Clint Eastwood film, demonstrates how different choices and love can be.
You should watch “The Bridges of Madison County” next because, despite having a different perspective from the false motivations in “Faithfully Yours,” it still tells a moving story about heartbreak and life.

The intriguing premise and complexity of “Gone Girl,” which stars Rosamund Pike, Ben Affleck, Carrie Coon, Neil Patrick Harris, Kim Dickens, and Lola Kirke, will enthrall you and make it the ideal film to watch after “Faithfully Yours.”
