Thai Boy Love dramas have definitely been a rage in the past few years, with many quirky new ideas being adapted and presented to Yaoi fans. Another latest addition to the increasingly long list of boy romance dramas of 2023 is La Pluie which has just begun airing recently this weekend.
Premiering on 29th April 2023, La Pluie made a successful start, with the first episode gathering multiple views and positive reviews. The show, which was highly anticipated for its release, climbed up to the top 4 in the iQIYI rankings.
It explores the dream-like concept of soulmates in a universe where it is possible for a man who is deaf to hear the voices of a person every time it rains. As amazing as this sounds, one of our protagonists, Saengtai, is an adamant young man who is against fate deciding on his partner for him and wishes to make his own choice in the matter, while his ‘soulmate’ Phat who is an ardent believer in destiny’s plans for him has been waiting patiently to find his soulmate. However, it is a stubborn silence that greets him every rainfall, firing up his will to win over his soulmate.
This surreal concept and lovely plot have been penned by screenwriters Fluke Teerapat Lohanan, and Tanachot Prapasri, with Vorachai Nualsri and Ratthawit Peerasararoj helming the series as the directors.
The star cast is also solid for the show, with the amazing on-screen chemistry between the actors quickly becoming a hot topic among fans. It is Peerawich Ploynumpol’s second time in the main lead role as he plays the character of ‘Phat,’ the destiny’s child who strongly believes in and accepts the idea of soulmates. ‘Pee,’ who was a medical student, has also contested in Cleo 2017 and JOOX Auditions.
Tanatorn Saenangkanikorn, also known by his nickname ‘Title,’ debuted in the series-‘Until We Meet Again’ as a guest role. After this, he went on to participate in various projects in a support role, with main roles in ‘Remember Me’ and ‘Remember 15.’
The 2nd episode of La Pluie is scheduled to drop out soon this week, and we bring all the relevant details to you here in this article, so continue scrolling!
La Pluie- Synopsis
Saengtai is a young man who suffers from sensorineural hearing loss that has shut him off from the rest of the world, and he himself is not at all fond of interacting with people, especially strangers. He is not someone who believes in destiny or having a ‘soulmate’ made just for him, but rather prefers to make a choice for himself.
Quite the opposite of this is Phat, who is eager to prove the legitimacy of their being perfect for each other to Saengtai.
When it rains, although all around it is silence for Saengtai, somehow, one man’s voice makes it through to him. A sound he can hear. This person is Phat, who patiently awaits Saengtai to speak to him but is not able to hear any response to his mutterings.
