Mark Leveson and Dan Patterson created a satirical show that puts the spotlight on celebrities, the show is known as Mock the Week. The show is produced for BBC Two by Angst Productions, the show was first released on 5 June 2005. The show is delivered by Dara O Briain and has regular appearances from Hugh Dennis, the comedian, the show also has numerous appearances by other comedians and some of them have appeared regularly on the show across various seasons.
The structure of the program has two teams with three comedians, each performing in a fake game show. In the game, they have to answer questions surrounding regional and major news events These events are from a week before the shooting of the latest episode and are focused on satires, comic discussions on news, and standups with improvisational comedy.
Each episode also features a compiled video that has outtakes, extra footage, and notable scenes. Even the repeats of the show are shown on channel Dave and have high viewing spectators. The BBC announced that series 21 would be the last series on 2nd August.

Why was Mock the Week got canceled after season 21?
Mock the Week will end after 17 years, and this was officially confirmed by BBC. They said that the latest season would be the last season and everyone would be proud of all the past seasons, but to make way for other new shows, they took the difficult decision to kill the show. Furthermore, they thanked panelists Dara O Brian, Hugh Dennis, Angst production, and every other comedian who was involved with the show in any manner for the whole 21 series.
As for the fans, they were understandably shattered after hearing the news that this was the last season. One viewer was so infuriated that he even launched a petition to save the show from ending, and the petition got more than 12000 signatures.
Some of the other fans are asking them to do an episode every year and name it ‘Mock the Year’. Other fans who have been following the show since season one suggested that the show was just dead rubber now, and it is good that it is ending now, it should have ended years ago and they will continue to watch past episodes.
