Netflix announced the adaptation of the light novel Yakitori: Soldiers of Misfortune into animation at Anime Japan 2023, which got the light novel fans excited for the first episode release on May 18th. Carlo Zen is a popular Japanese novelist and is actively working on several light novels like The Saga of Tanya the Evil. Carlo Zen is also the author of the light novel Yakitori: Soldiers of Misfortune, from which the animation is getting adapted, and he has completed two volumes, each getting released in the years 2017 and 2018, respectively. The novel is illustrated by So Bin, who is known for their illustrations of another light novel Overlord.
The director of the animation is Hideki Anbo, some of his life’s greatest works include Astro Boy. Popular names like Mitsuyasu Sakai and Atsushi Yamagata work on script writing and character designs, respectively. The music of the anime is made by Ken Ishii, known for his popular albums jelly tones and sleeping madness.

Yakitori: Soldiers of Misfortune an action sci-fi drama that has become one of the most awaited anime in Japan in the year 2023. This show is based upon intergalactic battles and rivalries between different trading Federation around the Solar system. The timeline of the plot is set far in the future, where the future Japan is being ruled by a Shorten.
The humans in future Japan are being oppressed by the Shoren, whose origin is not on Earth. Some people from Japan fight against oppression by the Shoren, and the main protagonist is one of the leading figures in the rebellion. The main protagonist Akira Ihotsu gets recruited into an intergalactic military force called Yakitori.
As the name of the anime suggests, Yakitori: Soldiers of misfortune, this force has severe misfortune when it comes to survival, having more than seventy percent mortality rate on every mission they have been assigned to. The main protagonist, already in a worse oppressed place, agrees to join the force without batting an eye to escape Shoren’s suppression, choosing one bigger misfortune over the other.
The Yakitori force is known for being a notorious group, and managing to survive proves to be a hard task. Akira tries to face every challenge that he and his group are put into and tries to come out alive while also trying to reach his goal. Will Akira manage to stay alive while also reaching his goal?
