Another version of The Real Housewives franchise called The Real Housewives of Potomac has been airing since 2016. Much like its sister versions, this also focuses on the high and sophisticated lives of the elite women of Potomac, Maryland.
With seven seasons out already, the makers of the show are currently in the eighth installment, with the first episode out on November 5th, 2023. This season is bringing back Gizelle Bryant, Ashley Darby, Robyn Dixon, Karen Huger, Candiace Bassett, Wendy Osefo, Mia Thornton, and Nneka Ilhim.
We will also be meeting up with an ex-housewife, Charrisse Jackson-Jordan, and a new face, Keiana Stewart, as one of the friends of the housewives. The makers of the show have promised the appearance of a fan-favorite housewife and an ex-member, Blake, in one of the episodes as well.
The show, along with its plethora of variations, has become a comfort watch for many of us, maybe because of its ridiculousness or maybe because it offers a form of escape into the grand lives of women who seem completely invincible on the outside but are an utter mess on the inside.
With dramatic fights, intense one-liners, and insults being casually thrown around, some of these women have major beef with each other and as an audience, and it could not get more interesting to watch grown women passively claw each other.
Such fights have at times escalated into physical altercations, even getting the law involved, but for the most part, these housewives have managed to bottle up their feelings pretty well. While the high tensions keep the show entertaining, fans have been pretty curious about the whereabouts of these wives and the filming locations as well.
Let us tell you all we know about the shooting spot of RHOP and where exactly these wives live.
RHOP Filming Locations
The name gives away exactly where a significant portion of the show is shot. The crew found our lovely housewives in Potomac, Montgomery County, Maryland, though this is not the only location featured in the show.
Parts of the show have been shot in Washington, Virginia, Louisiana, New York City, and Florida, to name a few. To get more specific about the locations, you might be able to spot the crew and the wives of the show in around the areas of cities like Potomac, Bethesda, Catonsville, Baltimore, Arlington and New Orleans.
Maryland
You may have spotted the Mix Bar and Grille in the first episode of the show or maybe the Saint Michaels city during one of the episodes of the show. Some of the scenes for the show were also filmed at Equinox Bethesda, 10 Winters Lane in Catonsville, 4435 Willard Avenue in Chevy Chase, and in Baltimore.
Washington, D.C.
The crew paid a visit to this capital city as well, shooting in spots including the likes of Sax Restaurant & Lounge, The Willard Intercontinental Hotel, 701 Restaurant on Pennsylvania Avenue, and 1301 Constitution Avenue Northwest.
Virginia
Spots like 5 Cameron Street and Myron Mixon’s Pitmaster Barbeque can be spotted in the show as this is where some important scenes were actually shot. Arlington, Oz Restaurant, 2950 Boulevard, and Richmond are other places within Virginia where the crew was spotted.
New Orleans
Stuffed in the southeast of Louisiana, the crew drops by New Orleans quite often, actually. A few locations that we are sure you will be able to spot almost regularly include Cafe Du Monde on 800 Decatur Street, 941 Decatur Street Suite 101, and Whitney Plantation.
Where Do The RHOP Housewives Actually Live?
The OG, Gizelle Bryant, has been with the show right since its start, and fans have been curious about her house the most. Well, let us tell you that while Bryant lives in Maryland, she does not actually live in Potomac. The star of the series bragged about her house, which is located in Bethesda, also in Maryland.
Ashley Darby, also one of the housewives who have been with the show since its conception, revealed that she is put up in D.C. along with her lovely millionaire husband, Michael Darby. In love with the view from her place, Darby told fans how much she likes the fact that she can spot the Lincoln Memorial, Capitol Building, and the Washington Monument from her rooftop.
Roby Dixon, another loyal RHOP wife, was excited about moving into a new place with her family, and fans seemed to be excited about it as well, considering we have seen her grow into the successful woman that she is. But we are still unsure about where she is currently living or has moved to.
Karen Huger, the boss lady, openly revealed to fans that she had moved back to the place where it all started. Proudly claiming that she had found a home in Potomac, she seemed all ready to take over the town. While her experience at Great Falls seems to have been great, it seems that she was in need of a change, which came in the form of Potomac.
Wendy Osefo, though not a part of the original ‘Housewives club,’ lives a happy life with her husband and lovely kids somewhere in Finksburg, Maryland. Another permanent member who joined the show late but ended up becoming a favorite of many, Mia Thornton, also does not live in Potomac.
She revealed that she had a beautiful apartment to herself in Baltimore, though in one of the recent seasons, she announced that she had moved out of her apartment permanently, though she was still in Baltimore.
Monique Samuels, the housewife who is known to have joined the reality series during its second installment, remained with the series all the way till season five. During her time in the show, she revealed that all she wanted from life was to settle down and never move ever again.
Her dream finally came true when she managed to get her hands on a beautiful 12,000-square-foot house in Potomac itself, which turned into a warm home with the presence of her husband and family.
So, just because the show is called The Real Housewives of Potomac doesn’t really mean that they’re all settled there, but now you know exactly where the housewives are and where the series is filmed.
