Amazon’s chief executive officer for worldwide consumer business, Dave Clark, has announced that he will be resigning on July 1. He is leaving after working for almost two long two decades and more. He further took to social media and penned down a farewell note, stating that as much as he had loved the ride, it was time for him to say goodbye to start a new journey. The note further stated that for some time, he had discussed his intent to transition out of Amazon with his family and others close to him, but he wanted to ensure the teams were set up for success. Clark further adds that he feels confident that the time is now. While Clark’s replacement has not been revealed yet while Jassy said that Amazon is in the process of firming up a succession plan for Clark and will announce an update over the next few weeks. Several names have been coming up who are in line to take over the position.
Dave Clark Opens Up About His Post Resignation Plans
While we are yet to know who is going to be Clark’s successor, he assured us that he leaves the company “knowing that the leaders in the consumer business are world-class and will take the next phase of Amazon to remarkable levels of success.”
Clark further added that Amazon’s consumer business team also has a “solid multi-year plan to battle against the inflationary challenges” that the company is facing in 2022. He also calls himself a builder at heart as, for him, there has been no greater company to hone those skills than here at Amazon. He has not disclosed any additional details or future plans post his resignation from Amazon.
