The Good Doctor Season 5 Episode 12 was primarily about sex. Shaun kept trying to figure out how to connect with Lea; at work, he and Jordan were dealing with a patient who didn’t want to go into operation as a virgin. We needed something lighter after the heaviness of the previous episodes, but this went too far in the wrong direction. The Good Doctor shines brightest when it concentrates on medical plots. The sexual troubles of Shaun and Lea took up far too much of the time. Maybe if I was a greater Shaun/Lea fan, I would have found this story humorous. But I kept expecting a more serious plot to balance out the silliness, and it never came.
I typically enjoy Shaun/Glassman interactions, but their conversation regarding Shaun’s sex life ran on for far too long, and Glassman’s analogies made little sense. The nurses’ interruptions caused the dialogue to become choppy since they couldn’t get Andrews’ attention. The writers seemed to think the repeated interruptions were humorous, but they weren’t. They were simply irritating. Andrews’ storyline was mostly ignored, with far too much of it taking place off-screen, which was a problem because it was far more interesting than any of Shaun and Lea’s sex life.
The Good Doctor Season 5 Episode 12 Review And Recap
The Good Doctor Season 5 Episode 12 begins with Marielle Torres being taken to the hospital after collapsing on a plane. Audrey is checking her and informs her that she requires a chest x-ray due to her breathing problems. Meanwhile, Morgan is seeing a woman who has a significant hemorrhoid that she cannot treat herself. Asher informs Alex and Audrey that he will only date men who check all of his requirements. Marielle’s x-ray report shows that she has cancer.
Alex informs her of the bad news and informs her that a biopsy is required to be certain. She informs her lover Isaac that her insurance did not lapse, but that she lost it due to her status as an undocumented immigrant. She says she was going to tell him that her documents had just been refused and she was scared. It was all because she was wrongfully charged with a marijuana DUI. She was attempting to have it removed. He is irritated that she did not tell him, and when she coughs and blood comes up, Asher hurries her to the OR.
Lea runs into Shaun at the café, and he wonders why she needs a fill in the morning, and whether it’s because they haven’t had sex in ten days. She claims she simply woke up and had a few seconds to think about it. He thinks she should have called the cowbell if they had been off course.
Shaun Gets Smacked
Wolke tells Tora about his coming out and how his father collapsed while she was being treated. He lost his family and ended his relationship with the man who had broken his heart. He gave her the story to make her see that her fiance was in pain as well. Her lung suddenly collapsed, and she needed to be taken to the operating room! The fungus spread and damaged her kidneys while she was in surgery.
When Victory came, both Allen and Shaun met her privately. Shaun even offered her the half-eaten chocolates to cheer her up. When they were through, the couple became caught because her vaginal wall kept him inside her. Her surgery was successful, and she recovered quickly.
Glassman insisted on Andrews playing in the softball game in order to win back his staff, whom he had neglected in the aftermath of Salen. Dr. Murphy’s dry period remained while he struggled to find a cure. When he tried to catch Lea off guard by sitting in her dark office, her reflexes smacked him in the face. Shaun quickly decided that being adventurous was not for him…
They Stick To Their Schedule
They talked about a sex schedule while Shaun treated his face, but it wasn’t very interesting. Lea later went to Shaun to describe her parents’ sex schedule. She stated how they had been married for over 40 years and appeared to be happy together… Isaac went back to Tora and was upset by her lies. She begged him to understand why she kept her secrets from him. Her rehabilitation treatment was extremely painful. They eventually got the pain under control, and Isaac apologized for leaving her.
Lea and Shaun didn’t wait long at the softball game because they had a schedule! One of the nurses approached Andrews with her issue, and this time he genuinely listened. Back at home, Shaun and Lea couldn’t get started right away, but they gradually got in the mood… of you know what.
