Shining Vale Season 1 Episode 7 saw Pat like never before. Especially because now she wasn’t just herself. She had a deal with Rosemary, and now Rosemary occasionally takes over her body and works her way around. Pat agreed to this possession deal to help her family. She wanted Rosemary to write her book and take her on the success path. The possession deal was one thing, but there was more to this story.
In the previous Episode, apart from this deal, Valerie had warned Pat about dealing with Rosemary’s spirit. But by that time, Pat had already accepted Rosemary’s offer. Episode Seven of Shining Vale Season 1 sees the deal flourishing but not in a way Pat thought. So let’s break down the events of the Episode and our thoughts on the same.
Shining Vale Season 1 Episode 7 Recap
Previously on Shining Vale, we opened up to Pat who is now possessed by Rosemary dressed up like she is from the ’50s or something. So, Pat is living up to Rosemary’s promise. While Pat thought it would go hand in hand, Rosemary has started taking things to another level while she is controlling the body. For starters, Rosemary is having a party despite Pat not being a party person.
Anyway, Kam loved the book for sure. But it was a matter of time. Pat started realizing Rosemary was doing things she shouldn’t as well. She walked away from Kam when she didn’t get a desirable amount and bought a car now. Rosemary is even connecting with her kids like never before, but at the same time, it seems like there are different motives behind it.
The party in the evening saw the arrival of Kathryn, with whom Terry is having an affair, and her husband. Then Kam and Claire Vanderbilt, the person who was going to replace Pat for the summer book release. While Pat was mad because Rosemary invited her, Pat believed the bigger competition was Kathryn, not her.
When the party came to an end, Rosemary made Kathryn and her husband Blake stay. All of this to question the affair between her and Terry. Things certainly went bad from there. Towards the end of the Episode, Terry ends up sleeping with Kathryn again, while Pat finds herself waking up in her car after spending the night with Blake.
Pat returned home to follow Valerie’s lead to find out that Rosemary purposefully killed her. When Pat tries to confront her, Rosemary shows her who is really in control. Amidst all of this, Jake and Fred tried to contact Daisy using an Ouija Board. But they ended up contacting someone named Dan, who went missing in the 1950s.

Shining Vale Season 1 Episode 7 Review
Courtney Cox has done quite a job of handling two personalities at the same time. In Shining Vale Episode 7, we saw both the distinct personalities of Pat & Rosemary flourishing. The moment the Episode opens up, we clearly see the signs of a possessed Pat. The classic ’50s attire and the way she did morning chores clearly say it’s Rosemary.
Cox’s character of Pat takes a little backseat as there is more focus on Rosemary. The Episode is a sign of how sinister she could be. So Pat and Rosemary working hand in hand will never work. Pat just had to realize this, and she does by the end of the Episode.
We were expecting this moment to come around slowly through some build-up and little moments that would gradually tell even Pat or us that Rosemary is completely taking over. But it all went down in one Episode. For now, we can deal with the fact that their real motives of Rosemary are kept under wraps, apart from her wanting to completely take over Pat’s body.
The show had already dropped a hint in the previous Episode when Valerie claimed Rosemary isn’t who she says she is. So we have to say that’s okay for that part. Coming to Jake’s part in the Episode, after all this, we were hoping to get more insight about the house. The mystery and motive of Daisy, to be honest. For now, the show has shoved us with another person who died on this property, leaving us questioning.
