The launch of Palworld 1.0 has marked a major milestone for Pocketpair’s hit survival game, introducing a massive content update while bringing renewed discussion across social media.

While many players have praised the game’s full release, Pocketpair’s Head of Publishing and Communications, John “Bucky” Buckley, has addressed what he describes as unnecessary online controversy surrounding the title.

In a message shared on X, Buckley encouraged fans to focus on enjoying games rather than engaging with negativity online.

Buckley calls on players to ignore online controversy

Commenting on the discussions surrounding the game’s 1.0 launch, Buckley suggested that some social media users deliberately create controversy for engagement rather than genuine discussion.

He wrote,

“The usual suspects out in force on Twitter trying to stir up as much Palworld fuss as they can for $.”

Buckley followed that with a message aimed directly at the community:

“Stay vigilant, gamers. Play games, enjoy your hobby, don’t get sucked into manufactured dramas by people posting 50 times a day to make $1.”

He concluded with a simple reminder that resonated with many players:

“You can like any game you want!!”

Although Buckley did not identify any specific controversy, the comments arrive as Palworld continues to attract attention following its long-awaited 1.0 release, which introduced extensive gameplay additions and improvements.

Palworld continues to enjoy strong player support

Despite the online debates, Palworld’s reception remains overwhelmingly positive. The game has maintained “Overwhelmingly Positive” user reviews on Steam while attracting a large player base following the full launch, reinforcing its popularity more than two years after first entering Early Access.

Buckley’s latest comments also echo remarks he made earlier this year during an interview with GamesRadar+, where he joked about “professional Palworld haters.” At the time, he explained that criticism from a small number of persistent detractors was “not really” something the development team worried about.

As Pocketpair continues supporting Palworld with post-launch updates, the studio appears more focused on delivering new content than responding to recurring social media debates, encouraging players to simply enjoy the experience on their own terms.
