Smilegate has unveiled a major roadmap for Epic Seven during the mobile RPG’s 8th Anniversary “Infinity” Showcase, revealing new story content, Heroes, gameplay modes, quality-of-life improvements and a Steam release planned for the second half of 2026. The anniversary update is one of the game’s biggest content expansions, combining new PvE and PvP experiences with major rewards for both new and longtime players.
The headline additions include the new Side Episode Paradise Lost, two new Heroes, the game’s first official roguelike mode and a new 3v3 World Arena experience called The Call of Chaos. Players can also look forward to an upcoming collaboration with Chaos Zero Nightmare, while Smilegate confirmed that Epic Seven will finally expand to Steam with account linking and gamepad support.

Paradise Lost Brings Players Back to Epic Seven’s First World
The new Side Episode, Paradise Lost, takes players to the 1st World, the earliest known world in the Epic Seven universe. The story will introduce Lisette, the alter ego of Goddess Diche, as a new Light elemental Soul Weaver with abilities focused on reviving and restoring allies.
Smilegate also revealed Uncharted Pioneer Politis, who represents Politis during her first arrival on Orbis in the 1st World. Her combat role will change depending on where she is positioned, adding another strategic element to team composition.
Acolyte of the End Kayron will also play a major role in Paradise Lost, although he will be introduced separately. Meanwhile, Kain will appear as a playable NPC rather than a summonable Hero.
New Roguelike Mode and Faster 3v3 PvP Arrive
One of the biggest gameplay additions is Dimensional Exploration, Epic Seven’s first official roguelike content. Players can enter without spending currency and build a three-Hero team while assigning up to three additional Heroes to tag slots, allowing as many as seven Heroes to be used throughout an expedition.
Players will progress through a node-based structure featuring battles, shops, events and supply areas. Different combinations of Relics and Recruitment Tickets will create new strategies, while an exploration ends after defeating bosses across three floors or suffering a full party wipe.
The first season, titled “Journey of the Stars: Homeward Bound,” will use the Chaos Zero Nightmare collaboration as its background theme.
Smilegate is also introducing The Call of Chaos, a new arcade-style 3v3 World Arena mode. The mode features rapid pick-and-ban phases, immediate combat and a victory condition centered on destroying the opposing Sentinel. Players can earn rewards based on their performance, with each challenge ending at seven wins or three losses.
Offline Background Battling and Major Anniversary Rewards
The 8th anniversary update will significantly improve Background Battling by allowing it to continue even when the game is closed. Players will be able to register up to 100 Leif, while the feature will calculate its duration using actual clear records.
New auto-sell and auto-extract options for Equipment are also being added, alongside the Equipment Charm Payback Event. Profile Cards are receiving expanded layers, more save slots, additional customization tools and PC shortcuts.
The anniversary celebrations begin August 27 with a free login reward: the Popularity Poll-winning skin, “New Moon Luna: Majestic Bunny Girl.” Players will also receive 20 Free Covenant Summons per day during the 63-day event period, totaling 1,260 free summons.
Additional rewards will be available through the “Festival of Shining Moments” event, including a Limited Artifact, Hero and Artifact Selectors, and a Natalon Academy 5★ Moonlight Hero Selector.
Chaos Zero Nightmare Collaboration and Steam Launch Confirmed
The September collaboration with Chaos Zero Nightmare will bring Renoa, Haru and Mei Lin into Epic Seven. Renoa will be available for free during the event, while Haru and Mei Lin will arrive through Limited Summons. Collaboration events will also appear in Witchaven.
Looking beyond the anniversary update, Epic Seven is officially coming to Steam in the second half of 2026. Existing players will be able to link their accounts, and the Steam version will support gamepads. The game is already available to wishlist. Smilegate
Smilegate also confirmed that E7WC 2026 will begin with in-game preliminaries on September 12, while the tournament finals are scheduled for November 28.
