Palworld has staged a remarkable comeback on Steam following the release of its highly anticipated Version 1.0 update. Just days after leaving early access, the open-world survival game has climbed back among Steam’s biggest titles, reaching 921,485 concurrent players and closing in on the one-million mark.

The player surge represents one of the biggest post-launch comebacks on the platform. SteamDB data also shows the game’s concurrent player count skyrocketing after the full release.

Version 1.0 Sparks Huge Player Growth

The latest milestone comes more than two years after Palworld became a global phenomenon during its January 2024 early access launch, when it peaked at 2.1 million concurrent Steam players.

Before Version 1.0 launched on July 10, Palworld was attracting a daily peak of around 58,000 concurrent players on Steam. Following the full release, that figure surged to more than 921,000 concurrent players—an increase of nearly 1,500% compared to its pre-Version 1.0 peak. The dramatic rise highlights the strong player response to the game’s largest update since its early access debut.

Pocketpair’s full release introduced 72 new Pals, expanded and redesigned regions, gameplay rebalancing, higher player limits, and numerous new mechanics. The update was so extensive that its complete patch notes exceeded Steam’s posting limits.

The strong return has also been accompanied by improving user reviews, suggesting that players have responded positively to the game’s largest update yet. With the title now available across multiple platforms, its total player count is likely well above its Steam numbers alone.
