Palworld has enjoyed a major resurgence following the launch of its long-awaited version 1.0, drawing nearly 900,000 concurrent players on Steam over the weekend. The milestone marks the game’s second-highest player peak ever, showing that interest in Pocketpair’s survival hit remains remarkably strong more than two years after its Early Access debut.

According to SteamDB, the game’s full release reached 855,525 concurrent Steam players, trailing only its record-breaking launch in January 2024, when it surpassed 2.1 million concurrent users.

The 1.0 update officially moved Palworld out of Early Access and introduced an extensive list of improvements spread across 27 pages of patch notes. Pocketpair also confirmed that the game would not receive a price increase, describing the decision as a gesture of appreciation for the community.

Following the successful launch, Pocketpair Head of Publishing and Communications John “Bucky” Buckley thanked players on X.

“I promise I’ll try not to just be posting Steam numbers every day but really, thank you so much, gamers. Obviously, we had high expectations for 1.0 internally, but this is staggering. We really hope you are enjoying your time in Palworld again.”

The strong player turnout immediately pushed Palworld back among Steam’s most-played titles, highlighting the continued popularity of its unique blend of creature collecting, crafting, base building, and survival gameplay.

Players celebrate the update while requesting further improvements

While many fans welcomed the full release, community discussions have already shifted toward what comes next. Players have suggested features such as randomized maps, additional endgame content, and even a potential sequel.

Others believe the priority should be refining existing systems. Base management, Pal pathfinding, building stability, and AI behavior remain among the most commonly requested improvements, with some players arguing these systems still need additional polish despite the official launch.

Pocketpair has consistently supported Palworld with major updates since its Early Access debut, and the studio now faces the challenge of maintaining momentum after one of the biggest relaunch weekends on Steam in 2026.

Although matching its original launch peak may be unrealistic, the game’s latest performance demonstrates that Palworld continues to command a massive audience and remains one of Steam’s most successful survival games.
