Palworld continues to outperform expectations following its 1.0 launch, maintaining remarkably high player numbers on Steam more than two weeks after release. While many major releases experience a sharp drop in concurrent players shortly after launch, Pocketpair’s open-world survival game has shown impressive staying power, remaining one of Steam’s most-played titles.
According to SteamDB, Palworld reached around 725,000 concurrent players shortly after its full release. More than two weeks later, the game is still matching—and even surpassing—that figure, recently recording a daily peak of approximately 803,078 concurrent players. The highest player count since the 1.0 launch reached 961,000, placing it among the largest concurrent player totals in Steam history.
Expanded 1.0 content keeps players invested
The sustained player base reflects how much the game has evolved since its original Early Access debut. The 1.0 update significantly expanded the experience with additional regions, new Pals, improved progression systems, more equipment, and deeper endgame content.
In an analysis published by Forbes, contributor Paul Tassi explained that Palworld’s gameplay loop continues to encourage long play sessions through automation, exploration, crafting, breeding, and base management. He noted that even experienced players continue discovering unexplored parts of the world and tackling difficult endgame raids.

Tassi wrote, “There are countless things to do in the game, from catching Pals to breeding them to building elaborate bases to exploring the world.” He also observed that many high-level players are still working toward optimizing their strongest Pals and completing the game’s toughest challenges.
Unlike many multiplayer games that depend on seasonal content updates, Palworld offers extensive progression systems that naturally keep players engaged. Steam figures also represent only the PC audience, while the game remains available on Xbox platforms, including Game Pass, meaning its overall player base is likely even larger.
With its consistent Steam performance and expanded 1.0 content, Palworld has established itself as more than a viral success. Pocketpair’s survival adventure continues to demonstrate strong player retention, reinforcing its position as one of 2026’s biggest gaming success stories.
