The season finale episode of New Amsterdam begins with Helen telling Max that she will be at Heathrow in an hour and that she is sealing her luggage. He informs her that this is true; they will hold a small ceremony with a few of their friends at the botanical gardens. He takes her flight number and expresses his excitement to see her. Meanwhile, a massive hurricane is on its way according to the news.
Iggy is at home with Martin, and he asks why he feels the need to be the strong one, and for it to happen, he has to be weak, and he doesn’t want to be a broken bird. Mike becomes agitated, saying that no one wishes he wasn’t hurt more than he and that it has been his go-to move for years, and he has no intention of changing that. Mike walks out of the room.
Hurricane Alba Hits NYC
Lauren enters the nurse’s station as Hurricane Alba, a category four storm, prepares to reach New York City and the surrounding area. Lauren phones Floyd and asks him to come in, but he declines. She can’t call Max because he’s getting married. She travels around and talks to many individuals, but they all say no. Later on, she runs into Iggy at the café, and she claims she requested every department head in the hospital to lead them through the storm, but they all declined. He claims she did not ask him, grabs the binder she is holding and declares himself the boss.

Iggy is in an emergency and tries to catch everyone’s attention by saying that everything that isn’t nailed to the floor needs to be moved because they will most likely leak due to Hurricane Sandy. A man arrives with a woman named April, experiencing symptoms comparable to an ectopic pregnancy. Lauren notices a tattoo behind her ear and informs Leila that she is sex trafficked.
The power goes out in the hospital, and the primary grid goes down, but Iggy assures everyone that the generator will come on, and it does. Everyone ducks as a gust of wind smashes the glass. Iggy sends everyone to the stairwells, which are devoid of windows. Floyd assists with the sandbags, and Horace advises him to pack them more tightly. Horace informs him that he doesn’t need any favors and can handle it independently. Suddenly, a section of the roof collapses.
The Calm After The Storm
Iggy informs Martin that he was in command during the storm, and the only thing holding him back was a voice in his head, which he recognized as his own. Martin wonders what they’re doing, and Iggy says he doesn’t know, but he can’t be himself around him. Martine advises him to go immediately.
Leyla informs Lauren that they make an excellent team. Lauren tells her that she will take her flat until she has her visa and that she will not be there with her, that she cannot be there with her – she will move somewhere secure. Max makes a call about the flight because he wants answers, and suddenly he receives a notification that she has landed.

Floyd notices Max and asks if he may modify his food selection; Max responds that they don’t have a venue due to the storm. Floyd claims to have an idea. Everyone is staring at Max as he stands at the altar. She hangs up, and he informs everyone that she will not be arriving.
