The fight between the two factions had been going on for over 10 chapters now, making it the longest battle. Some parts of the fight could have been cut out and given a more cohesive experience, but we got to see some good moments.
For one, we finally got to see what the chief of the 8th division is capable of and her domain expansion-like ability. Mato Seihei no Slave Chapter 122 starts with the narrator saying what a beast Rairen is. He has effectively stopped every attack of the 7th squad without as much as a sweat on him. An opposite scenario compared to when he was on equal terms when fighting against one of the Chiefs, Tenka, who was holding him by herself.
Kyouka realized that her ultimate move had gotten much stronger each time she used it. And thus, it would be their best bet to use it against him and end the fight in one go. But for her to unleash that move, she needed time and space to collect all her energy.
Shushu and Himari took it upon themselves to confront the thunder god and distract him with their powers till Kyouka had recharged. Himari was on top of Shushu, acting as support to heal her and using the golden time to misdirect the attacks. The Thunder God was excited to fight the duo despite Shushu’s regeneration and healing from Himari, looking at it as an exciting matchup.
