Synopsis
Mashle: Magic and Muscles is an adventure manga that introduces us to a fantasy world. In this world, Magic seems to be something that determines the status of its inhabitants. Thus, Magic is the most important aspect of every character in the series. However, Mash Burnedead, the main character of the manga, is an oddball among these individuals.
Usually, being the main character of the series automatically makes one powerful. However, in a world where magic is everything, Mash doesn’t seem to possess any of it. Living in the forest, he indulges in rigorous weight training, making himself bulky like a “muscle god”. Eventually, he gets the opportunity to join Easton Magic Academy, an academy that trains people with magic. Among the many individuals in the academy, there consist of potential Divine Visionaries who are exceptional with their magic skills.
By achieving the title, Mash can live a peaceful life. Having muscles as his only weapon, Mash takes on many challenges in the manga. Not only this, but he also comes across many friends and foes as well as potential love interests and rivals.

Mashle’s Story Arcs So Far
Story arcs are an important aspect of many anime and manga as they help in the transition of the events in the story. They work like imaginary seasons, giving us a shift in not only the storyline but also, most of the time, the setting. So far, we have come across four complete arcs, namely: Easton Enrollment Arc, Forest Arc, Magia Lupus Arc, and Execution Arc. The first arc introduces us to the setting and central characters of the manga. This is also the arc that gives us insights into various concepts of the manga. As the name suggests, the arc ends with Mash being invited to join the academy.
The second arc introduces us to the start of Mash’s true struggles. In the Forest Arc, Mash also meets new characters like Dot, Lemon, and Silva. Being in the forest, they need to defend themselves by fighting off Forest Scorpions. The next arc, which is the Magia Lupus arc, is the longest one the series has had so far. This is the arc wherein Mash meets most of his friends and foes as well as hardships. It also introduces us to most of the central conflicts of the manga.
The fourth arc introduces us to new problems Mash must face as his secret is found out by the Bureau of Magic. Since Mash hid his secret of not being able to use magic, he was going to be severely punished. However, thanks to Ryoh Grantz, he was able to prove himself by lighting a candle without touching it.
