NBC’s supernatural series, Manifest, is the kind of show that’ll keep you on the edge of your seat with its unpredictable plot twists and interesting storyline. Created by Jeff Rake (Miss Match), the series was stopped right in the middle of production, leaving many fans of Manifest confused, but Netflix came to the rescue and took up the production for Manifest’s fourth and final season.
First seen on September 24th, 2018, Manifest centers around the crew of Montego Air Flight 828 as they go through the strangest time of their life. After facing minor turbulence, they assume they’ll be arriving at the airport a bit later than usual, but when the plane finally lands in NYC’s airport, they find out that it’s been more than 5 years since the plane took off and since no sign of it was ever seen in this period, the whole world assumed they just died. Now back from the “dead,” the passengers try to get back to their old lives, but fate has other plans for them.
Creator Jeff Blake had originally wanted Manifest to end with a total of 6 Seasons, but when NBC took it off from production, the creators lost hope and did try to make a movie that would offer fans a closure on Manifest’s storyline. Eventually, Netflix came along and was able to renew the show for another season back in August 2021. The cast of this supernatural drama consists of Melissa Roxburgh in the role of Michaela Stone, Josh Dallas as her brother Ben Stone, Athena Karkanis as Ben’s wife, Grace Stone, J. R. Ramirez as Jared Vasquez and Luna Blaise as Olive Stone.
Other cast members that we see on Manifest are Jack Messina, Parveen Kaur (Saanvi), Holly Taylor, Daryl Edwards, and Matt Long (Zeke). This series has received mixed reviews, with some critics liking its experimentation with supernatural elements, while others feel that Manifest lacks a solid storyline and introduces absurd plot twists out of nowhere. Nonetheless, Manifest became one of the most-watched series on Netflix as soon as its previous seasons were uploaded on the platform, which was the reason the streaming giant decided to produce one final season for it.
Manifest Season 4: Filming Locations
Almost the entire filmography of Manifest took place in the US, mainly New York City and locations within it. Despite having different platforms behind its production, the fourth season, just like the previous seasons of Manifest, seems to have been filmed in NYC as well, with most of the old cast members returning for one final time. The locations that we see in Manifest are:
New York City:
Through some of the scenes in this series, we can easily figure out that the crew’s filming in NYC. This place has served as its filming location since 2018, and when production resumed in November 2021, the cast of Manifest was back in the city to film the fourth season. Since Season 4 was filmed in two parts, the crew of Manifest was spotted once again in the city around June of 2022, where they were wrapping up the rest of the remaining storyline.
New York is undeniably a popular filming location and has served as the prone filming spot for good movies and TV shows like Transformers, Succession, Euphoria, Suits, and Friends. Major hit movies such as The Godfather, Spider-man: No Way Home, and The Wolf of Wall Street were all based in NYC.
Jet Flite International, Farmingdale:
We see the cast of Manifest at an airport quite a handful of times since the entire show mainly focuses on a plane. When the passengers and flight 808 first arrived in NYC, they got off at this airport in Farmingdale, which was near to the sets and had everything a normal airport would have. Although not many projects have taken place at this Jet Flite Airport, shows like FBI and Madam Secretary have featured the place in some of their episodes over the years.
Silvercup Studios, Queens:
Located on 4222 22nd Street, Silvercup Studios is where most of the interior scenes of the series are filmed. From action-filled intense scenes of Michaela and Ben bringing down the rebel groups to the random office or house scenes we see in the series, all of them were taken at the Silvercup Studios. Michaela, Ben, Zeke, and the others go to various places to fulfill their callings, and most of these are just on-set locations in the studio. Other interesting projects that were filmed here include The Sopranos, You, and Quantico.
Ben Stone’s house, which we see throughout Manifests episodes, is supposedly located in Suburban locations, particularly the Hollis Hills area of Queens. The Stone family lives in Ocotillo Ave in Manifest, but their real home is just similar-looking houses situated in Hollis Hills.
This sums up the locations we see throughout Manifest, and at present, the show is available to stream on Netflix.
