Monique and Chris Samuels are back with their show! Love & Marriage DC premiere date is around the corner! After the couple left the Real Housewives of Potomac, they took a small hiatus. But now, they’re back on the Oprah Winfrey Network. And with her, other successful couples and their businesses. All in the busy backdrops of the District of Columbia, Maryland, and the Virginia areas.
Monique Samuels was constantly fighting when she was in Real Housewives of Potomac. Moreover, she was some sort of outcast in the program, as she had a few friends, and she was often alienated from the rest of the cast. Still, in Carlos King’s Love & Marriage DC, the program will focus a lot on her, her marriage, and the other power couples’ relationships. Now, without further ado, let’s see what the show is all about.
Monique Samuels’ Comeback
Monique Samuels claims that after she left the Real Housewives of Potomac, she had reality tv post-traumatic stress disorder. But that light-hearted take on such a severe disease seems gone. After all, she penned a deal with the OWN for thousands of dollars as they chronicle her life and business ventures all over the capital city of the United States.
For producer Carlos King, that two-year hiatus brings us the “real her.” After all, if you follow the reality television world. You probably know that things went quite sour in the Season 5 reunion, as Samuels went into a fistfight and hair pulling bout with Candiace Dillard. Who knows if we’ll see some reality tv celebrity violence here too? Moreover, that was about the only real fight in Real Housewives history ever seen.
Carlos King Keeps It Coming
After shooting three seasons of Love & Marriage Huntsville, Carlos King will now try and prove the formula in DC. And by giving Samuels a shot in the DMV area, things might actually kick-off. The trailer for the show is a lengthy five-minute posh feature showcasing what the show will be like. And from the looks of it, we can already see the drama. As they’re already teasing us with lots of wine-ridden discussions.
Lessons Learned By Monique
After Monique rage-quitted, the Real Housewives of Potomac, fans of that show were split between team Monique and team Candiace. And that also put a heavy strain on the show, for some of the cast members like Wendy Osefo and Gizelle Bryant were very reluctant of doing the program with Samuels. Other cast members like Karen Huger, and Ashley Darby expressed their solidarity with the rogue Samuels, who later chose to take a two-year hiatus and now makes a full-force comeback with Carlos King on this show.
Also, things were bad for Samuels. When Bravo asked her if she wanted to partake in the Housewives All-Stars spin-off, she said no. Then she focused on her mental stability. After all, having all those cameras and no privacy can take a dramatic toll on mental health. But those days seem gone as she’s back now.
