One of the most anticipated anime of the year, Kaguya Sama: Love is War Ultra Romantic, just started airing this April, and fans have been enjoying seeing their favorite school council in action again. Right from the very beginning, we get to see our wholesome student body representatives go about their daily lives and the chaotic, humorous situations that follow.
Fujiwara is still the happy-go-lucky, outgoing, and cheerful ball of sunshine who keeps suggesting new things to do that she always is. Ishigami is still the gloomy, shut-in gamer who saves the day sometimes. Iino has joined the scene with her diligent and simple nature, which hides a secret that we get to see in the first episode, and Kaguya and Shirogane are still busy trying to make each other confess – now with new methods ranging from simple texts to downright arm wrestling.
It is great to see these faces again, and fans are expecting a lot from this season after the long 3 years of waiting. The next episode will be Episode 3 and shall be covering the stories of our side characters, judging by the names.

Kaguya Sama Love is War: Ultra Romantic Episode 2 Recap
Kaguya Sama Love is War: Ultra Romantic was divided into three segments – namely, Miyuki Shirogane Wants To Mediate, Kaguya Wants to Distract Him, and Kaguya Preemptively Strikes.
The first segment, Miyuki Shirogane Wants to Mediate, was about the bickering relationship Ishigami and Iino have. Both are poles apart in their behavior, hence always squabbling about something or the other. Osaragi and Shirogane, being the overlookers of Iino and Ishigami, respectively, decide to try out some bonding activities for the two to help them be nicer to each other. All of the lovey-dovey ideas suggested by Shirogane fail tremendously, and we see a montage of funny incidents as Ishigami and Iino keep turning the bonding activities into something threatening. The comedic skit hints at the slight spark of a dynamic between the two juniors, and the episode is overall a very funny one.
The second and third segments, Kaguya Wants to Distract Him and Kaguya Preemptively Strikes, follow the same plot wherein Shirogane is invited to a karaoke night by his friends. It also happens to be a mixer, and horrified that Shirogane will fall for another woman, Kaguya sends Hayasaka in disguise to look over the president. Due to the loud and social situation, Hayasaka gets mad at Kaguya for throwing her in such a place and aims at getting revenge by sneaking Shirogane into a room to ‘seduce’ him. What follows is Kaguya panicking outside a room with covered windows, Fujiwara getting invited to save the situation, and many comedic scenes following Kaguya’s demise.
The episode ends with Miyuki going out to the bathroom and Hayasaka being found passed out by Kaguya, who later finds out that it was all because of the president’s horrible singing.
The episode was released on 16 April 2022, and with it, we even got to see the new ending of Season 3 – Heart Wa Oteage by Airi Suzuki.
