In the previous chapter of I’m Stanning the Prince, the Prince of the Vess Kingdom looked stressed out about the Empire and its dealings with Talan.
It all started when the creepy and strange messenger from Talan came to their camp. The messenger’s words could very well be taken as a kind of message or threat by Talan.
The Vess Kingdom is small, so obviously, the Prince was worried, since the Empire would gain much more by allying with Talan. However, the King was convinced that Empire wouldn’t betray them, and Prince Nox asked the Crown Prince, about why he let the messenger go after he caused so much chaos.
He also says that the Duke, that is Rayburn, will deal with the messenger as he sees fit. Meanwhile, Rayburn gets the report about the messenger’s route back to Talan.
The Knight reports that it would be easy to predict the route since it’s a huge military procession. Rayburn is lost in his thoughts when his Knight apologizes to him and tells him about Angela’s kidnapping. The Knight thought that Rayburn knew about the kidnapping, but Rayburn had no prior idea.
On the other hand, Angela had decorated her room thoroughly with flowers with soothing scents and collected herbs that would help Rayburn. She wanted Rayburn to be relaxed, especially after he got bit by the snake.
She wondered if she should close the window since Rayburn was nowhere to be found, and he might not come at all.
She was basically conflicted and kept lying to herself, saying that she didn’t care if Rayburn didn’t come and that he couldn’t come, probably because he was busy and had a lot on his mind. That is when the Princess arrives at her door, at the same time when Rayburn appears at her window.
