Bering Sea Gold, the reality TV series, has returned with Season 17. The series is extremely popular in the United States. However, other international viewers are not very familiar with the series. The series has completed 206 episodes so far. Bering Sea Gold is broadcast on the Discovery Channel.
The series has lost its charm after so many seasons, because, according to the viewers, the first couple of seasons were highly entertaining but it kept losing the appeal after every succeeding season.
They find some of the characters very likeable, meanwhile, the other characters seem too annoying to them. The mining part of the series appeals to the viewers.
However, too much irrelevant drama and fights have made it less interesting in the last few seasons. Hugo Speer has remained the narrator of the series after season 13 and has been a part of it until now.
Bering Sea Gold Season 17 follows the lives of the gold mining crew and how they use different technologies to dig their gold in the Bering Sea.
The divers and the crew work day and night to get the gold, with their motivation to extract as much gold as they can within the limited time frame.
They treat their crew like family because they are the ones who are going to work to get the gold. All of them have the desire to make a fortune through mining, but they have to fight a battle with the sea as well as themselves to achieve their ultimate goal.
About Bering Sea Gold Season 17
America was drastically changed by the Industrial Revolution it sparked bold innovations and striking wealth. The spirit was still alive and thriving in Nome, Alaska when Shawn Pomrenke revolutionized offshore gold mining.
He believed that there were millions of ounces of gold on the Bering Sea floor, and everyone in Nome went diving from the suction dredge. They send their diver down into the sea with a hose to pump up the material from the bottom of the sea and filter out the gold.
Shawn Pomrenke thought outside the box to crush the competition by putting on an excavator on a barge.
By adding this technique to their mining activity, he could mine deeper and faster and go through way more material than a diver could ever do.
He later called it the Christine Rose, and it made him rich; he was able to make more money than anyone could ever make in their entire lifetime.
Later, he redesigned his Myrtle Irene. It became the largest excavator dredge on the Bering Sea, and they were on their way to build their next gold empire.
All the miners were unleashing a new wave of innovation because, to get the gold, they had to find bigger and better equipment.
All of the crew were ushering in another industrial revolution; Kris and others were moving towards the next level, and they could feel that they were going to get rich with the amount of money they were going to make.
