A Thai Drama Home School that has created a buzz recently is High School. Although it was released not long ago, making a premiere on 9 June 2023 with two episodes, this mystery drama is already catching the eye.
Directed by Fon Kanittha Kwunyoo, the star cast includes names like Nappon Gomarachun, who plays Master Amin, Cindy Sirinya Bishop as Yani, Nani Hirunkit Changkham as Tibet, Jane Ramida Jiranorraphat as White, Film Rachanun Mahawan as Maki and more. Six episodes have been released so far, and further we will discuss upcoming episodes 7 and 8.
The plot revolves around a prestigious school situated far from civilization in the woods. Home school has strict rules and curriculum which appeals to the wealthy and upper class. Parents are willing to pay one million per semester to get their wards to study here.
That is why only the wealthy and spoiled make it to Home School. Another interesting thing about the school is the number of students studying here. Every three years, a batch is selected of only thirteen students based on an exam. Also, it is the parents who appear for the exam, followed by an interview to select thirteen out of thousands.
Home school may seem like an ordinary strict boarding school to many, but the more the students live here, the fishier it gets. This school is a suffocating prison with dark secrets and nowhere to go or contact.
Home School Episode 6 Recap
Until now, all the students have been giving the first exam, the reward of which is contacting their families. Only one out of all can win this opportunity, and several have already failed. The ones remaining in the competition are White, Nai, Jingjai, Hugo, Tibet, Maki, Pennueng, and Phleng.
The next round is some old-school musical chairs where each one has to get a place to sit, and the ones who fail also fail the exam. The quarrel starts when Jingjai occupies Phleng’s seat causing White to scream at her.
To end the problem, Tibet starts breaking chairs so all fail together. Hugo dislikes his idea, and the two start fighting. All this is being watched by Master Amin and the students who failed. The students later decide to start over again, and this time, Hugo and Jingjai are disqualified. A red cross is marked on their forehead, and they join the other failed students.
In the next round, Phleng withdraws because she realizes that she does not deserve a spot. The leftover students are ready for the last round of this test with only one chair remaining.Maki suddenly realizes that their master said to find a place to sit, which necessarily does not have to be the chair. So all of them sit on the ground instead and pass the test.
The next and final round is directed by Master Amin himself. He hands them a blank paper and asks them to find the question and answer, giving them an hour to do so. None of them finds the answer, and Pennueng is disqualified for giving the wrong answer. Master Amin gives them another hour, and this time together, they figure out the question.
They tell Master Amin that since the masters are giving questions and trying to teach them a lesson; their answer depends on what he is trying to teach them. Impressed by their answer, he asks them the question, “Who deserves this reward”? Everyone votes for Tibet so he can talk to his ill mother, but he declines the rewards showing solidarity with his friends.
Later, we see Maki revealing that she came to Home school to find her brother Run, who is a Gen-4 student. In the ending scene, Master Amin visits Run, whom he has held hostage, and informs him about Maki. The episode ends with Master Amin saying, “It’s time, Run.”
