One of Netflix’s much-loved series, Hilda, is coming to an end after two adventurous seasons. Following the success of the Mountain King film, the story of Hilda’s life after the troll incident will be featured in the third and final season.
Luke Pearson’s Hilda was first seen in 2018 and was inspired completely by his novel series revolving around the same character. The show originally showed Hilda, a young girl who grew up near the woods, trying to build a new life in the city while also holding her original roots close to her heart.
Resilient and kind, Hilda quickly adjusts to her new life in the city and even learns how to live as a troll later on in the storyline. The voice behind Hilda’s character is Bella Ramsey, known for roles like Lyanna Mormont in Game of Thrones and Ellie in The Last of Us.
Hilda: Summary Of Recent Events In Hilda’s Life
Season 2 of Hilda began with Hilda finding out more about Trolls and writing a perfect essay about her encounter. This manages to get her a chance to tag along with Erik Ahlberg, the head of Safety Protocol. After a series of exciting new adventures, Hilda finally reaches the Stone Forest by the end of season 2.
The Mountain King film is where Hilda shockingly transforms into a troll. She gets lost in the dense Stone Forest and is unable to be in the sunlight. Johanna, Baba, and the others figure out what might’ve happened to Hilda and try to search for her in the forest.
With the increasing Troll activity near the town, the new safety police head, Erik Ahlberg, holds a conference and lets everyone know that there could be a curfew soon to deal with the issue. At the Elementary School, the kids are shown a false video about Trolls and their behavior.
Seeing the wrong portrayal, Frida and David try to protest against showing such videos filled with misinformation. Meanwhile, Hilda runs into Trundle, who lets her know about the strange call that all trolls hear coming from Trolberg.
Trundle asks Hilda to perform some tasks, following which he will try to help her become human again. First, she has to bring a cup of troll mead, then remove the bells that trap Trundle within the cave.
Hilda then goes to the castle to bring a mysterious red orb for Trundle, and when she touches it, she sees a vision of her mom turning into a giant creature and surrounding the walls of Trolberg. The bearded troll (who was Trundle’s brother) attacked Hilda, but Erik and her mom intervened and defeated him.
The Troll spell on Hilda’s body is reversed, but it turns out that Trundle is the real Mountain King. Hilda finds out that the mother of Trundle and the bearded troll are sleeping underneath Trolberg, and if they attack her children, Amma could wake up and crush the whole town.
The poor trolls are later allowed to visit the town and meet their mother once a year after everyone finds out the real reason why they were coming across the Trolberg wall.
