From Season 1 Episode 9 Recap
Previously on From, we opened up with Boyd and Sara walking into the woods. They came to a checkpoint. The farthest Boyd has ever gotten, as in the cave where he found the talismans. They decided to spend the night inside the cave as it was about to be dark.
Meanwhile, back in the town, Kenny had taken over Boyd’s position while he was away. People were already divided, wondering if this radio tower would actually work or not. If that was not enough, they woke up to the unfortunate suicide of Eric. The whole town was grieving his death, but it took a big toll on Donna.
As this went on, Jim found himself stumbled on where to go next. He couldn’t figure out an idea to keep the radio running if they even managed to start it. Kenny tried talking to a grieving Donna, but it only made matters worse. He thought she was grieving the death of Eric, but there was another reason. She believes this tower is just false hope. People will give up when it fails and die. She is grieving because there was almost a chance that this place could work the way it is.
Coming back to Boyd and Sara, they went deep into the forest to come across a tree hanging glass bottles. There was something inside it. But before Boyd could try to bring them down, Sara began hearing voices and passed out. The next time she woke up, Boyd had managed to bring a bottle down. All it had was a paper from 1864.
Sara believes they should go back home. This time she heard the voice of a woman. She believed they shouldn’t have come back here. It was a matter of time; someone or something attacked Boyd’s tent. Despite the fact that a Talisman was hanging above on tent. They heard a strange noise and bright white lights started shining around them. Apart from all of this, Julie had questions about if all of this was meant to be for them.

From Season 1 Episode 9 Review
After a calmed down From Episode from the last week, which ended on quite a peaceful note, the brand new Episode 9 began adding some conflicts among the people of the town. It sees how divided they have become since the party incident. The creatures from the woods literally crawled inside the place where they were supposed to be safe.
If we look at the character of Donna, it certainly tells how hope is quite a bad thing when it comes to a place like this. The radio tower community wants to build could be their ticket to home or just another false hope that will break them. With even Jim struggling to find a way, it could be a nightmare. So she just liked the way it was before they began finding a way home.
Moreover, the Episode actually took us slowly as we are just one Episode away from the finale. So there weren’t many revelations about the woods when Boyd and Sara walked into it. But the bottles that they found gave them something. Maybe this place has been here for years. So, there is a lot that we will figure out in the finale, and the show may even leave us on a cliffhanger if there is a Season 2 in mind.
