Bethany Ashton Wolf’s romance drama film Forever My Girl is as boring as the name suggests. Based on Heidi McLaughlin’s novel, this 2018 release failed to impress critics and fans, not standing up to the classic Nicholas Sparks’ romance vibes.
The movie stars actor Alex Roe in the leading role of Liam Lincoln Page, the douchebag who thought it okay to leave his bride waiting at the altar, and actress Jessica Rothe in the role of the bride that was left waiting for her groom-to-be, Josie Mollee Swan.
Apart from our two main leads, the movie also has Abby Ryder Fortson as Billy Anne Swan, Travis Tritt as Walt, Peter Cambor as Liam’s manager named Sam, Gillian Vigman as Doris, Judith Hoag as Dr. Whitman, Tyler Riggs as Jake Swan, and lastly, John Benjamin Hickey in the role of Pastor Brian Page.
The movie’s small cast and predictable storyline failed to keep its audience engaged and entertained. Critics found themselves commenting on the chemistry of our two leads, or the lack of it, which took away from the realness of the romance, making it look awkward on screen.
The story of Forever My Girl has our male lead, Liam, a musician who had to leave the love of his life, Josie, waiting for him at the altar on their wedding day to take himself out of the small town to pursue his passion, music.
It has been eight years since then, and Liam is again back in town, this time to get his girl back. It won’t be easy, and apologies will have to be made, but since it is a romance movie, we all know how it will end. Liam is back, this time as a successful and famous country singer; there is no way Josie will be able to ignore that.

Georgia, United States
According to the movie’s premise, the plot is based in St. Augustine, supposedly in Louisiana. But St. Augustine is a fictional place, so where was the movie shot? Most of the filming for the movie was done in a popular shooting spot in Georgia.
To be even more specific, a significant portion of the film was shot in and around parts of Atlanta, Georgia.
The place itself is popular among moviemakers and those who go on hunts for locations, and this is because the state of Georgia laws are set in ways that help the producers cut down a lot on their filming costs.
The filming crew for Forever My Girl was spotted on 300 Main Street in Dallas, Georgia, which happens to be the place where they shot the flower shop scene. Another location where the crew was spotted was the Sardis Methodist Church in Atlanta, Georgia. This was the place where the funeral for Liam’s friend was filmed.
The leading actors cast in the film also revealed that they had met up in Atlanta, Georgia, in hopes of getting to know each other before the start of the actual shooting to show a better performance on-screen, but we all know how that went.
The filming for the film was not just limited to Atlanta; the cast and crew also ended up visiting New Orleans in Louisiana. The Mercedes-Benz Super Dome, more popularly known as the Caesars Superdome, is a multi-purpose place in the city, and in the film, this Superdome was used as the location spot for Liam’s concert in New Orleans.
Apart from these locations mentioned above, not a lot is known about the rest of the filming locations of this mediocre romance drama.
