Players continue exploring the Lands Between years after launch, helping Elden Ring maintain its long-term sales momentum

Elden Ring has generated more than $2 billion in estimated revenue after selling approximately 36.4 million copies across Steam, PlayStation, and Xbox, according to market research firm Alinea Analytics. The figures underline the commercial success of FromSoftware’s open-world action RPG, which won Game of the Year at The Game Awards in 2022 and continues to attract players years after its release.

According to Alinea Analytics’ report, “How well have past GOTY winners sold?”, Elden Ring remains a major revenue generator for publisher Bandai Namco and developer FromSoftware. The company’s estimates also suggest that the game sold another 2 million copies in 2026, generating nearly $110 million in additional revenue.

These figures are estimates from Alinea Analytics rather than official sales and revenue disclosures from Bandai Namco or FromSoftware.

ELDEN RING’S $2 BILLION REVENUE HIGHLIGHTS ITS CROSS-PLATFORM SUCCESS

Alinea Analytics estimates that Steam accounts for approximately 50% of Elden Ring’s sales, while PlayStation represents 35% and Xbox accounts for the remaining 15% across console and PC. Despite accounting for roughly half of the game’s estimated copies sold, PlayStation and Xbox contribute approximately 57.5% of its revenue.

Regional pricing helps explain the difference between sales volume and revenue. For example, China reportedly accounts for around 17.4% of Elden Ring’s Steam sales, with the game costing approximately 26% less there than in the United States.

The figures demonstrate the game’s ability to reach audiences across different markets while maintaining strong commercial performance. Its continued sales years after launch also show that successful single-player RPGs can remain commercially relevant long after their initial release.

MILLIONS OF PLAYERS CONTINUE EXPLORING THE LANDS BETWEEN

The game’s commercial success is matched by its player engagement. Alinea Analytics estimates that more than 9.8 million players have spent over 100 hours in Elden Ring, while nearly 3.5 million have unlocked every achievement or trophy available on their respective platforms.

The report also highlights continued interest among PlayStation players. Of the approximately 1.5 million people who played Elden Ring on PlayStation during the month covered by the analysis, 4% also played Dark Souls 3, another 4% played Bloodborne, and 3% played Sekiro. These figures point to an active audience with an appetite for FromSoftware’s challenging action RPGs.

The franchise has also expanded beyond the original game. Alinea Analytics estimates that Elden Ring Nightreign, the standalone cooperative survival spin-off released in 2025, has sold 7.8 million copies and generated $282 million in revenue.

With an estimated $110 million in additional revenue during 2026 alone, Elden Ring continues to perform strongly alongside newer releases. Its $2 billion milestone and 36.4 million estimated copies sold highlight how a well-received game can maintain its commercial momentum long after launch.
