Hijack became one of Apple TV+’s top shows last season. Starring Idris Elba as Sam Nelson, the series followed a tense negotiation on a hijacked flight from Dubai to London. Each episode covered an hour of the flight, building suspense until Sam’s final showdown with terrorist Stuart Atterton.
The show’s success led to its renewal this year. Elba will return as both a star and executive producer, joined by creators George Kay and Jim Field Smith.
While plot details for the second season remain under wraps, fans can expect the same thrilling experiences they loved in the first season.
Hakan Kousetta, an executive producer of Hijack, had hinted at the possibility of new episodes. Elba confirmed the series’ return, revealing that production would start in June and might continue until the end of 2024.
Collider’s Nate Richard praised Elba’s excellent performance, highlighting moments where he discovers shocking truths in the first episodes.
