Deal or No Deal, the beloved game show, is getting a complete makeover when it returns to our screens in 2023 on a new channel with a new host and a new appearance.
Noel Edmonds presented the first Deal or No Deal game show on Channel 4. However, it hasn’t been on TV since 2016. Now that the longest wait is over, the most tense box-opening game has returned!
The popular game show is making the move to ITV, complete with a new logo and some daring new competitors. It seems to be just as suspenseful as ever, with viewers witnessing people make potentially life-altering decisions as their fate is kept a secret behind mystery boxes.
The broadcaster has hinted ahead of the premiere that each episode will feature a fearless new competitor facing the notorious Banker in an attempt to win a cash reward that might change their life. This game show has no questions other than Deal or No Deal.

Although the idea is the same as in the original, this is a summary for those who are unfamiliar with it or need a reminder! There are 22 red, sealed boxes in Deal or No Deal, and inside is some cash. An impartial judge seals the boxes so no one else is aware of what is within.
The main distinction is that the jackpot has increased from £250,000 to £100,000; nevertheless, even with that alteration, the money is still enormous and will put pressure on the players when the boxes are opened one at a time.
Even though the majority of the game is luck-based, the player tries to find smaller sums of money in the hopes that their prize will be greater or that the Banker will make a higher offer, which might mean they take home a tidy sum of money or the dreaded 1p.
For the upcoming Deal or No Deal season, Stephen Mulhern will serve as the presenter. A new Banker character will also be present to try to entice the players.
Stephen briefly discussed the new Banker with What to Watch, saying, “That’s the question everyone asks me! I don’t recognize his voice, and I don’t want to meet him because I believe that if I become friends with him, our communication style will change.
“The banker never backs down; occasionally, he will just call and spew abuses! Tell them if they want to get greedy, he once said to me. I’m going to become ill.”
Game show fans were overjoyed to learn earlier this year that ITV intended to revive the incredibly popular Channel 4 series that had shuttered seven years prior. After receiving more than 11,000 applications, a new group of candidates was chosen to compete against the enigmatic banker in the hopes of taking home the grand prize.
Deal or No Deal’s tagline, “It’s a game with no questions, only one,” is still quite straightforward to this day. Perhaps this is why the show has endured for so long. It has been televised in 83 countries since its 2000 Netherlands premiere.
You only need to be willing to have your mettle tested by an invisible person who makes offers based on the prices you reject during rounds. No basic knowledge is needed. Eliminate the lower values from the board, and the offers will increase; however, if the large players are removed, you run the risk of not having enough money left over to pay for your dinner and a few sobering beverages on the way home.
51 people left Channel 4 with just a single penny, while nine people shared the £250,000 jackpot across the show’s 3,000 episodes. After placing second on The X Factor two years ago, singer Olly Murs won a tenner.
