ABC’s game show, Celebrity Family Feud, can be regarded as one of the most hilarious shows of all time. The entertainment that we get out of this Family Feud spin-off is beyond amazing, with each celebrity facing puzzling questions and Steve Harvey being the host.
Celebrity Family Feud first premiered in 2008 on NBC but has been produced by ABC since June 21st, 2015. Each episode begins with a group of celebrities or their families facing three rounds, where they’ll have to answer a series of questions accurately. The smartest team that scores the highest will be awarded $25,000, which they can spend on any charity they’d like.
This version of Family Feud is not just limited to the US, as similar game shows also exist in Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Germany, and the UK. For the NBC version, Al Roker used to be the host. He used to be a part of the platform’s Morning Show called Today. At present, Steve Harvey is the host of this ABC version. He never fails to bring out the humor, even in the most serious of questions.
Over the years, Celebrity Family Feud has hosted famous actors and television personalities like Tiffany Haddish, the cast of Abbott Elementary, the cast of High School Musical, Simu Liu, The Sharks, the Kardashians, Steph Curry, and even the cast of Grey’s Anatomy. The latest season of this spin-off has been airing since July 9th, 2023.
Celebrity Family Feud: Filming Locations
The normal Family Feud, which has different families competing to win the ultimate cash prize, takes place in Atlanta, Georgia. However, the Celebrity version takes place mostly in Los Angeles, California.
Los Angeles, California:
When this spin-off was first brought into existence, LA was chosen as the place where it would take place. It used to be filmed at CBS Television City at 7800 Beverly Boulevard in Fairfax, Los Angeles. However, after the year 2000, the studios changed. It was now taking place in NBC Studios at 3000 W. Alameda Avenue in Burbank.
From 2003 to 2006, this entertaining show was moved to CBS Studio Center at 4024 Radford Avenue in Studio City, LA. After moving between cities a few more times, the show is now most likely filmed in Downtown Los Angeles. The current studio has also served as a filming spot for TV shows and movies like The Rookie, The X-Files, Mad Men, and the film Fight Club.
The Florida studio which hosted Celebrity Family Feud from 2010 to 2011 is the same place where Ocean’s Eleven, Van Helsing, 2 Fast 2 Furious, and Jurassic Park III were filmed.
Los Angeles serves as a perfect place to host this Celebrity game show, as LA is known for its large population of Hollywood actors. From A-listers to influencers, most of them are based in LA, so it makes sense that the producers would choose to shift to LA instead of Atlanta, like the usual version of Family Feud.
Celebrity Family Feud: About The Show
With nine seasons at present to boast its popularity, Celebrity Family Feud can be regarded as the best game show that has celebrities as its contestants. Asides from Steve Harvey’s humorous commentary, the questions that we see in the game show are just as entertaining.
The best thing about this show is that the tickets to be there on set are supposedly free (as said on its website), giving anyone that wishes to see their favorite celebrities in real life a perfect opportunity. To see this normal, human side of celebrities for a change is always interesting, as they seem to be just like us when they’re on stage.
The questions bring out the best in them as they struggle to come up with quick answers which also match the number of boxes on the screen. The show gets more dramatic when the whole family shows up, as everyone tries their best to score the highest.
The newest season of Celebrity Family Feud will be featuring some of the biggest stars from Hollywood and the music industry, so don’t forget to tune in on ABC’s website or Hulu to watch the latest episodes.
