Better Things Season 5 Episode 7 doesn’t leave much. But we can assume that it may or may not continue the troubles for Sam as the guest director. Something she had never done before, which she picked up recently. She struggled on the very first day. While she is away for a few days, it’s up to Max to take care of Duke and her friend Pepper. Thus making sure that Pepper’s last day is not ruined because of Duke, and at the same time, she is able to take care of the house and cover up for Sam and her daily chores.

Better Things S05E06 Recap
Previously on Better Things Season 5, Sam was going to be away from work for a few days. She is working as a guest director on a TV show with a predominantly black cast. As Sam has no experience in the direction side of things, we see her struggling with the gig. Meanwhile, Max is back home babysitting Duke and her friend Pepper. The burden is quite a lot on Max. She is taking care of the house much like Sam used to do.
Back to Sam, she continues to struggle with a number of aspects of filming. Most importantly, with a kid on the show. She fails to get him to act right, and on top of that, the kid’s mother is quite considerate about the amount of time the kid spends on the shoot, and there are few rules around him. Sam had to complete the shoot in the shortest time possible. On the other hand, Max takes Duke and Pepper out to have fun, sometimes forgetting that she has other work to do, like visiting the bank.

Sam’s day continues to go down and down. This even sees her in an argument with Ron. Although Ron later apologizes, it’s Eli who helps her with some pep talk. Meanwhile, Max talks with Duke about vaping and advises her to act better as a thirteen-year-old. So she won’t repeat the same mistakes as her.
Sam later talks with Max on a video call. It seems like Max has come to understand the burden Sam goes through. Anyway, on Sam’s side, even the night doesn’t go well as Phyllis meets her at a bar. Phyllis continues to talk about her perfect day without asking how Sam is.

Better Things Season 5 Episode 7 will release on 4 April 2022. It is titled “Family Meeting”. The official synopsis of the next Better Things Episode doesn’t give away too much. It just mentions that we see Sam fighting zombies while Max holds down the fort. We wonder if it has to do with her recent film directing gig or by zombies it means her own kids. Because we saw the condition of the house and the kids turned out while Sam was away.
