Anime fans will be ecstatic to know about an upcoming Shōjo anime titled “A Girl & Her Guard Dog,” playing with themes like love, loyalty and self-love similar to beloved mangas like Ultimate Venus and Together Forever that will be made available for viewers to enjoy in this fall season.

On October 10, 2022, an anime version of the beloved manga was announced to be produced by Project No. 9. A Girl & Her Guard Dog will premiere on September 29, 2023, on Tokyo Max with an English dub for viewers to enjoy. The upcoming anime series will focus on Isaku Senagaki, the granddaughter of a gangster with a serious yet shy personality and her guard Keiya’s love story.
The anime will have its fair share of twists and turns as the granddaughter of the most feared gangster craving for an ordinary life enrols in high school after giving up on her love for Keiya, only for him to enrol in the same high school by faking his age to keep a close eye on his boss’ granddaughter. What if the moment you decide to give up on your unrequited love is the moment to fight for it?

A Girl & Her Gaurd Dog Premise – What To Expect
The plot of the anime series will focus on a high-school student, Isaku, being excited to be a part of a new high school as most of the students her age would be before starting a new chapter in their lives.
Even though Isaku appeared to be strong and serious, unfortunately for her, she was living a completely different life with no friends to call her own due to her grandfather being a part of a gang. Isaku lost her loving parent in a car accident at the tender age of five and got adopted by her grandfather, a yakuza boss who raised her as a part of the clan.
Isaku hopes with everything she has to begin high school with new memories that aren’t tainted by her grandfather’s ties with a gang. Isaku hopes to make friends and find love at her new high school, and everything seems to fall in place for her until Keiya, the yakuza group’s leader, forges his age to enroll in the same high school Isaku is enrolled in.
Isaku’s plan starts to fail, with Keiya enrolling in the new High School even though she chooses a school that is far away from her home with deliberate intentions of no one figuring out her family ties. Isaku wanted to do everything in life that she missed out on while in middle school due to her family ties and lack of friends.

Isaku attempts to do everything to prevent the loyal family servant Keiya from being nosy and interfering in her new life but continues to fail as Keiya has promised to himself to protect Isaku, the little girl he connected with the day she came to live with her grandfather.
The first episode will introduce Isaku as she tries to lead an ordinary life in her new high school away from the chaos of her previous life. Isaku tries to keep her identity as the only granddaughter of the Yakuza boss at her new school before Keiya arrives and messes things up for her due to the two clashing with their thought process.
Isaku wants freedom, while Keiya vows to keep her protected from any harm that may come her way.
A Girl & Her Guard Dog Episode 1 – Release Date
A Girl & Her Guard Dog will become available for viewers’ on Tokyo Max and BS Asahi on 29 September 2023, at 11:30 PM [J.S.T.], and will focus on Isaku in her new high school with no one knowing who she is until Keiya makes an entry in the same high school. Isaku’s hopes to keep her identity a secret will be threatened by Keiya’s attempt to keep her safe from any harm that may come her way.
