‘A Condition Called Love’ follows first-year high school student Hotaru Hinase, who values her family and friends above all else and is indifferent to romance. She is content with never experiencing love until she meets Hananoi, a handsome honor student.
While at a café with a friend, Hotaru witnesses Hananoi’s painful breakup. Later, she finds him sitting alone in the snow and offers him her umbrella.
The next day, Hananoi shows up in her classroom, asking her to be his girlfriend. Despite initially rejecting him, Hananoi persists, performing selfless acts to win her over. Hotaru eventually agrees to date him, hoping these feelings will grow into love.
