Plot of The Beginning After The End Chapters
King Grey had everything; a kingdom, full of people who adored him; Wealth, beyond belief; Power, unrivaled, but one evening he found himself falling asleep, never to wake up again. And as he is lying he realized through all the success and power he had made many enemies but very few friends.
He thinks in hopes that if given a second chance, he will do better, be a better man, and cherish his friends and family. But slowly the darkness ends up taking him to hold. Then all of a sudden the darkness starts to turn lighter… it becomes grey… he sees a bright light and hears people talking… A room comes into focus and there are people staring down at him.
At this point, he realized he is being reincarnated. Now, what though is he just gonna sit there, and cry about it, or is he going to take control of the situation and make something good out of it? The Beginning After The End takes his concept and runs towards it.
The main character Grey or in this new world, Arthur, was a king but is reincarnated and born to an adventuring couple. After the initial shock of being reincarnated, he realizes that maybe the reason he was reincarnated was to give him a second chance at family and friends.
Now at this point in the story, decides to do the toddler-to-infant training thing, where they use the old knowledge to get super overpowered. Think of Mushoku Tensei, where Rudeus used his prior knowledge to get a bonus in life; Arthur’s basically doing the same thing with the magic system, but eventually, his parents realized that he is special, and sends him off to a tutor.
You know the usual Isekai trope, where the village is boring and they need a progressive story, so they sent him off to a far distant city, and at this point, I think to myself; okay overpowered character, check; memories from a past life, check; magic system, check; it felt like this was just another generic Isekai, that we have seen thousands of times. But wait!! as soon as Arthur and his family leave for the city to go find him a tutor, this story goes insane.
This is because as Arthur and his family are adjourning that end up getting attacked by bandits, and he ends up having sacrificed himself in order to save the life of his mother, he dives off a cliff into a chasm. But Arthus is a certified thug, he falls off the cliff hundreds of feet into the wood somehow surviving the fall, and there is a voice, the voice of whatever saved him telling him to come to find her cave.
Now we will not go further with the details and then counter where the story goes from here because there are major twists and turns that you will not expect. But I would say, this story does something that many stories fail to do and that is to set up their “why” early on. Because often times story within fiction have no clear goal of where they are trying to go and what they are trying to achieve. But this is not the case with The Beginning After The End, within the first fifteen chapters, it said it’s up to the main villain for the rest of this story and who the protagonist has to shoot for.

How The Beginning After The End Is Different From Other Isekai Series
Introducing the villain at the very beginning is something very compelling because, in most of the Isekai guys, there is this big demon king but the demon king never seems to appear or actually exist in the story. It is just this made-up boogie man kind of like Voldemort or something that he does really exist you just shouldn’t say his name. But just like the Demon Slayer, The Beginning After The End introduces the villain at the very beginning, and the hero sees what he has to achieve. It is not new, but this story does it so well that they don’t even know it is following the same usual tropes.
As it does not try to be groundbreaking, it does not try to change the mould but it does everything really well so it feels different and new. Because the main character, Arthur, feels like a breath of fresh air from all those beta main characters who are afraid to hurt anyone. If you piss him up, he will react, and some of the scenes can be pretty graphic. He feels like an actual person though, not some self-insert protagonist made for Worcester filament that has zero personality.
Now instead of being your usual pervy character (I’m looking at you Rudeus) Arthur actually has respect for women and the main love interest is genuinely interesting. Has her own personality that does not revolve around Arthur and the dynamic between the two is refreshing and actually seems like a genuine relationship.
Because it’s an Isekai we can not have anything nice of course there are problems with the gender rules; because the main love interest never seems to be competent and constantly need to be saved by Arthur, which is fine every once in a while, but the story introduces her as the Super Confident Mage, who is one of the best at her age, yet she is needed to be saving, so it is kind of contradicts that idea.
This problem alone is not for The Beginning After The End I feel like a lot of Isekai have a plan where the protagonist is the strongest and most competent person around but The Beginning After The End actually diversifies this by making a detailed power structure. Where Arthur is insanely strong as soon as he is born; yes he is extremely overpowered; yes he solves pretty much every problem that there is, but there is at least an attempt to not make him overpowered and have a power scale to have him reach to and get to throughout the story.
One thing that keeps the story grounded from seeming like he is just the best thing there is, is his family and friends. There is a heavy emphasis on family and how important is to keep the ones you care about close to. Throughout the story, he gains more friends and eventually learns how to be a good person and a friend. He grows as a character through many trials, and there are some insane choreographed fights with awesome line colouring and drawing, and the backgrounds are often very detailed.
